Really enjoyed our stay. Just could have been perfect if the room had been replenished/ prepared during our stay.

Set in a beautiful location. As it was a special occasion we stayed in the character room which was a bit pricy but lovely and comfortable. We ate in the restaurant both evenings and the food was excellent. The waitresses were very polite and service was good.

The room wasn’t replenished/ prepared after our first night. I did display the sign requesting this service. We went out walking that morning and came back to our room late afternoon hoping to find clean cups, glasses towels etc and a general tidy of the room. When I asked at reception I was told that they were short staffed and there was only one person cleaning the rooms. The member of staff was quite dismissive.

Amazing location and staff, needs maintence on the ensuites.

The restaurant staff were amazing at helping us with our dietary requirements.

The bath kept emptying while using it and the faucet dripped the entire trip. The sink tap was falling off and was difficult to use when washing your hands.

Lovely warm and cosy and would defo recommended

The crown is a beautiful cosy hotel and restaurant with stunning views and walk around. We visit with the dog every year roughly around November time as its all decorated for Christmas the log fires are on so it’s just sets a very cosy and relaxing atmosphere The staff are so friendly nothing is to big of a job for them every staff member is lovely to talk to. It’s dog friendly and all staff are lovely with the dogs also. Even the night staff are lovely and friendly!

The parking isn’t the best but there’s plenty pay and displays around if outside the hotel isn’t available

Lovely hotel and restaurant in a beautiful setting. Parking is £9 for 24 hours

Meals were good,breakfast could have been a little more generous on portion size. Had the veggie breakfast, sausage was deep fried which was disappointing,the mushroom wasn’t really cooked through either but poached egg was perfect.Nice fresh fruit salad and orange juice when we requested it. Fresh roasted coffee in a cafetière each was great.

We had room 6 ,very nice but the windows need blinds as it’s very public. Good tea/ coffee tray.Nice to have fresh milk . Lovely hotel with a beautiful outdoor area.Definitely will return. There is free parking outside hotel but it’s hard to get a space

Stylish and comfortable

Very clean and stylish. Breakfast was very good, and the bar downstairs had a lovely atmosphere for pre dinner drinks. Very comfortable.

Only drawback was that as room was front facing and the windows weren’t double glazed, the noise of the bins being emptied by the lorry at 5.30 in the morning woke us up.

Good location in middle of Pooley Bridge. Room was clean and spacious and restaurant service was quick despite being very busy. Breakfast was excellent (full Cumbrian cooked!) and included.

Parking was a problem and only on last day did I get a spot outside the hotel otherwise finding overnight parking elsewhere in the town. Also no lift but staff helped carry my luggage up to 2nd floor. The room was a bit cold as central heating wasn’t on but it didn’t bother me much. The restaurant was chilly in the morning for breakfast but it is a big room and I suppose difficult to warm up first thing.

A lovely stay in a quiet and beautiful location

Room was very nice, lovely, warm and cosy. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice and served to you. The residents bar is a big plus with a lovely log fire, perfect on a cold night. This is our 2nd time here and would definitely go back.

I feel it can be a little expensive for a nights stay. We didn’t arrive until 6pm and left at 9.30 so quite expensive for what is a base when out walking and sightseeing. I think they need to be careful not to out price people.

We will definitely be back

We just loved the hotel and received a free upgrade. It was so clean and I think it’s the best breakfast I’ve ever had. Location was amazing and so much going on at night with a variety of pubs to suit everyone. Pooley Bridge is beautiful and the cruise trip is definitely worth the money.

The location is fantastic and I can see the hotel was once well decorated and very smart.

The food was really mediocre. The kitchen seemed more interested in speed than taste and the menu was dull. Food was served tepid at dinner and breakfast. Tasteless. Also the hotel is shabby. The armchair in our room had the foam showing on both arms. The room was nicely appointed with lots of little touches and then a really cheap holkowfibre duvet on the bed. Posh mattress, rubbish duvet. We noticed some of the dining room chairs were also ripped and bald.

The bedroom I stayed in was lovely, clean and modern. Staff were very helpful and polite and nothing too much trouble. Food was lovely as well.

Not being able to open the window and it was very hot in there, couldn’t have stood it if it had been hotter, I know there was a fan but needed a bit of fresh air.

Location is definitely the best! Breakfast was fantastic. We've booked our evening meal and the food was excellent! The room was clean, authentic and has what you need for a short stay.

Parking - you might need to fight for a space with visitors. But I can't complain too much as it is a small village and a beautiful place to visit.

Accessible room with wet room was excellent. Food was first class.. generous portions and plenty of choice. Service was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful.

A small fridge in the room to store medicines would have been welcome. As it was very hot during our stay, air conditioning would also have been welcome. We had to keep the curtains closed as the large window was at street level so a net/ voile curtain or blinds would be an improvement

Great location by the river Pooley bridge stay with comfortable rooms. Small car park.

The room was spotlessly clean, had nice toiletries and comfortable bed. There were nice touches like large mugs for drinks and fresh milk provided in a flask.

The windows was painted shut so we could not open it which was an issue for a very warm summers evening. the staff may have been aware as a fan was provided which did help. The bar and restaurant reception were chaotic, to be fair due to a. lot of non guests crowding the bar and the restaurant on a hot summer's evening. The staff were polite and tried to be helpful.

Mmmehhh! Too much money for what you got

It’s always a hard one in the middle of August. I do believe that retaining staff is really difficult but they all look fried and they just wasn’t enough of them.

It was way too pricey for what it was breakfast was great, but the evening meals were basic overpriced and not well turned out
