No dinner - lied that the gas was off. No breakfast - they no longer do it I received 4 emails asking me to check in online, despite having all my details....but couldn't be bothered to tell me about lack of food.

Bed was broken, the wood used to mend it could be felt through the mattress. No TV remote in the room. Reported to staff without a resolution. No evening meals available due to a problem with the kitchen.

It was a nice hotel and it was ideal for our stay.

Not a complaint as such, but the vegetarian options could be better. On that note the other pubs in the village had limited veggie options too so there is room for improvement all round here. On the plus side the food we ate at the hotel was good though. We would stay here again and we would recommend this place 🙂

Possibly stay again but a different room

Free car park & WIFI. Staff were friendly enough when went in the first afternoon. The room looked onto the road & wasn't noisy at night. But the room was clean, the key to the room was on a Hugh piece of wood which was difficult to put in Jeans pocket when taking the dog out in the morning. I would possibly stay again but I would ask for a different room.

We were in room 4 & during the day when we were in the room the noise from below us was very irritating. It was October and windy outside. Unsure what we were over but all you could hear was some music that wasn't very good and metal barrels continually rolling. We ordered one meal in the Sun chicken wings & chips. I informed the lady the chips were raw in parts and the dog ate most of them. The bed itself, mainly the pillows were very uncomfortable.

In need of full makeover. Old cobwebs in our room. Not really like the pictures. Ran out of chips, fries, onion bhajis and white coffee on the first night. Needless to say we didn’t eat there again. Breakfast no longer available.

Kitchen closed, bed absolutely awful, radiator that made noises that kept me awake all night long, also a bulkhead light outside the window that was on all night and the curtains did nothing to stop the light shining through. I left the premises at 5.30am the following morning shattered. Rang to complain on fri 26th was told someone would get back to me, heard nothing so rang back sun 28th , was told we are really busy someone will be in touch next week, heard nothing even after two emails to two different addresses for the sun inn and they both bounced back, not delivered ! Just tried ringing again and no one answered at 6pm. Awesome customer service

it was ok for a one night stay, but not worth the price without breakfast

the staff were very friendly, only i arrived late evening, to be told that breakfast is no longer available even though my booking was for bed and breakfast, l was only staying there as going on a long hike, luckily the crown do breakfast, but is expensive for non residents. The chef very kindly offered to get up and make me a breakfast, but every other guest had accepted that there was no breakfast available l did not want to be the only one, plus the chef was propping up the bar necking pints, wasnt sure if he would be reliable.

the hand sink did not drain in my bathroom, i very nearly flooded the bathroom

Nice location.

Rooms requested x2 twins were not allocated. This was blamed on booking. Com. The rooms were not cleaned , clothes in wardrobe. Generally disappointing Breakfast only 1 member of staff turned up in the entire hotel. He cooked breakfast but tables weren’t cleared, breakfast took ages.

Perfect location in the centre of Pooley Bridge Reasonably priced compared to other accommodation in the area We were able to take our dogs Tea and coffee making facilities were good and there was a nice big bathroom with a great shower

The bedroom room was poor. The bed and ceiling were covered in fruit flies. The shower head was covered in mould and had to be wiped clean with toilet paper. The bed mattress was far too soft. Very disappointed definitely not worth the money.

Great location, hotel is tired

The beds were comfy, the linen was clean. The location was fantastic - close to excellent bars and restaurants that served food.

It took a while to get checked in as there was only one member of staff who also had to serve in the bar. She was pleasant and doing her best, but informed us that there would be no food that evening due to a 'change in management'. The room could have been cleaner - there were grubby finger marks all over the door finger plate, and old cup marks on the bedside tables. The TV didn't work, and we suspect this wasn't a new problem, as the remote was in a drawer with numerous loose batteries, and the wires were hanging loose.

Poor and not worth what I paid.

Check in was from 3p.m - we arrived at 4.30 and neither room had been cleaned. Barmaid/Receptionist was very apologetic and believed the rooms just need to be hoovered. We asked to drop baggage into rooms and it was clear the clean had not started on either. Male member of staff said there was a change in management, he didn't even work there and had 20mins to clean each room. Considering we were there for one night it was a shoddy experience. We managed to get into rooms around 6p.m - they were fine - a bit tired - not worth what we paid for the time we were in them. Poorly managed and a poor experience.

Rooms should have been ready at 4.30p.m.

Central location, which is good for accessing local amenities, walks, and the lake. Within easy reach of local transport.

Lack of basic housekeeping. Cups dirty on arrival. Tea bags/milk were not replenished during stay unless asked for. Towels not changed. 1 out of the 2 bins in the room emptied. Cleanliness. No food for evening meals available on 2 out of the 3ngts we were there. On the 1ngt food was available, it was light bites due to the football I assume.

Pricey property but comfy sleep in a perfect location

The property was in the heart of Pooley Bridge so close to all amenities. Lovely room with a lovely private bathroom. Tv also in the room which was a nice touch as a single occupier. Good spacious room with a very comfy bed.

It wasn’t the cleanest of properties and the ceiling in my room needed some repair work. The windows were filthy and could’ve done with a clean. The neighbours across from my room were up super early and I could hear everything they were doing in the morning therefore woke me up before I needed to get up.
