Very central location, incredible breakfast

Building is old building and it was understandably very hot so could have done eith a fan

The staff we super friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was fantastic especially that they could accommodate the fact I’m gluten free. The bedroom was beautiful furnished.

Gluten free biscuits would have been nice to have in the bedroom.

We stayed four nights at Jeakes House in the Conrad Aiken Suite. The room is beautiful, but definitely not suitable for tall people — you hit your head everywhere. Breakfast was well prepared, although having to book a fixed time in advance is a real holiday killer. Where’s the go-with-the-flow vibe? The real dealbreaker was the bathroom: every single day a new batch of large, greasy flies appeared. No idea where they came from, but swatting 3–5 flies daily is not exactly a pleasant bathroom ritual — gross. And of course they also made their way into the bedroom area… yuck. Despite reporting this twice to the maintenance guy, nothing was done. At checkout it turned out the owner, Doris, was fully aware of the issue but clearly didn’t consider it important.
