We loved the location so close to Kitano Tengu and other shrines or temples. The historic house is beautiful! Very comfy beds on tatami mats. There is a washing machine and dryer for use. We loved the friendly welcome we received with special matcha tea preparation and wagashi sweet. The best matcha tea I had during my time in Japan! The owners went above and beyond to help us with travel plans even driving us to train station for train to Tokyo. A perfect end to our 3 weeks in Japan!! Recommend staying here more than 1 night and cycling along river bike trails.Thank you!

The overall house is so comfy, feel like home. Host were very helpful & patient. Tip top clean.
Quiet neighbourhood is a plus point. Mainly locals surrounds
Down side is , no toilet in 2nd floor, the stairs is a bit steep. Need to be careful when up & down to toilet / bath

We had a lovely stay! The guesthouse is charming, a traditional Japanese house in a historic neighborhood. All the essentials are nearby and it's well connected to the center by bus. Everything was impeccably clean and well organized. The owners were really helpful and kind, they really went above and beyond to help us and make sure we had an unforgettable stay in Kyoto. I wholeheartedly recommend staying here!

The location was in a neighborhood without many traveler, and had many good restaurant choices. I enjoyed being away from the center of Kyoto
The house is very old, with bathrooms only on the first floor.
