The clean view of the things, ie it provided just the necessary things for a traveler in a very decent manner
I couldn’t find the history of the building, which I believe is an extra asset !!

The price is quite good compared to other accommodations inside the old town. Technically, this guesthouse (which seems to be a student dormitory during the school terms but serves as a guesthouse in summer) is NOT in the old town but only 5 minutes' walk into the hilly Old Town. It is not far from Matera Sud train station (still further away to shuttle bus stop but still walkable). The room is basic but with a separate living room/study area and bedroom, it is quite spacious.
Breakfast is a bit basic. However, with the good price, we should be happy that breakfast is even included!

The location is great. It's just outside of the old town, about a 5min walk. It's very quiet! The whole building was very clean, including the room. The room was spacious, so was the bathroom. Parking was included - a nice perk considering how close it is to the old town.
The whole place feels like a seminary or convent. It is a bit sad, with very little decoration - everything beige. With a bit of taste and paint and new furniture, it could be so much better! The breakfast, which was included, was really "meager". Thick pizza and/or bread, yogurt, a few jams, tasteless croissants, etc. But the coffee was good. The lady running the breakfast place was very friendly, but did not have much to offer in terms of breakfast.
