Everything!
For me personally Alvor is a bit out of the hustle and bussle I’m used to. This was my first time visiting Alvor. The property itself I had no issues with.

The hotel is new(ish) and is kept spotlessly clean by a team of housekeepers who appear to be working from morning to night. Location wise, it is at best a 20 minute walk into Alvor. It is right on the beachfront which would have been great if the weather conditions had allowed us to venture onto the beach, which it did not. Other than that this and other hotels surrounding it are pretty much isolated.
Beds are solid, most uncomfortable week I have ever spent in a hotel.
Breakfast, if you are used to British fare, is poor. If you like continental style then it’s okay. I stuck with tea and toast.
On one evening, having returned from dinner in Alvor, I stopped at the bar for a drink, only to be informed that the hotel had run out of beer! No draught on tap and only a few bottles of zero alcohol lager. The bar area itself is rather bleak and soulless, the pool area much the same.
