Lovely large property for a family gathering

The house is in a lovely part of the country. There is plenty of space for a large family. We had an excellent time.

Two things: the beds were a good size but a bit lumpy and bumpy. The knives in the kitchen were all blunt and it made it difficult to prepare meals.

Property very dirty in places,dining room chair cushions very grubby,soiled nappies had been left in bathroom bin I presume from the previous occupants ,black mould in all the bathrooms.Very poor quality bedding & stained mattressesSome.Garden chairs needed to be replaced,screws falling out…dangerous!! the cushions were very grubby.There should have been clearer instructions regarding recycling waste

Great house! Fitted everyone in. Was very comfortable, clean and had everything we needed for a great weekend!

Parking was a little bit tricky and some of my friends had to park on a street. I would recommend saying to guests where there is street parking nearby as the guests next door parked badly. Fortunately they didn’t mind us blocking them in.

Great accommodation, especially for a big group/family, great location. Great value for money

Great accommodation, 5 bedrooms, great for families, 3 bathrooms and an extra toilet downstairs. Kitchen facilities were decent, in a great location.

The dining room part was a bit small, but we all were able to sit round the table. But that’s just nitpicking.

A good base for exploring Derbyshire and for getting together with family or friends.

Location was easy to get to and close to local amenities. It was a big enough property for a large extended family group with enough bathrooms and bedrooms and a big enough dining table for everyone to sit around. The garden was a good size. Although road noise had been mentioned we did not notice this.

There was no hand-wash provided in some of the toilets, there was not enough toilet roll for the full 4 days, it would have been nice to have a welcome pack e.g. teabags, milk in fridge. Some of the beds were very creaky. The oven was very complicated to work out how to use. There were no egg cups provided. Would have been nice to have recommendations for local pubs and restaurants in the information pack.

Nice house in lovely location, but in need of some love and attention

The house was spacious and close to local amenities. There was good off road parking

The house was noisy. It was possible to hear conversations from rooms on the top floor downstairs. The en suite shower was dirty with mould, probably made worse by the fact that the extractor fan was not working. The washing machine was unusable because it was coated with black mould. The vinyl covering of the chairs was peeling off, leaving black stuff on the floors. The oven door was broken and wouldn’t close properly. This property could be exceptional if more attention was given to cleaning and maintenance.

Well sized, great layout, comfortable spacious house

The house was a fantastic size and well equipped. It's really well furnished, with plenty of seating and comfy beds. Loved the number of bathrooms and general layout. The extra fridge and large freezer was also a fantastic bonus. The host was extremely helpful.

It’s was clean, comfortable and it had everything you needed for a brilliant weekend. The instruction manual was through so we didn’t need to contact the owner

Exactly what we needed.

A large and comfy house which is tremendously well equipped for large groups. Plenty of parking. Kitchen is really well stocked with crockery, glassware, and cooking equipment which is great if you want to order in or cook for yourself, and you can fit 12 around the table too. Beds were comfy although the singles are only really suitable for smaller people. Plenty of bathrooms and showers for people so no issues with that, either.

As lovely as the house is, it is a little bit close to the main road which is quite loud at rush hour. This isn't much of an issue when the windows are all closed as this makes it negligible, but I wouldn't want to stay here when it was really hot as this house is very well insulated - a real plus in the winter, but in the summer must make this house hot and having windows open a necessity and thus the noise from the road more distracting. Also, there is only enough seating in the lounge for 8-10 people at a time, and the cushions on one of the sofa slips off a lot which is a little annoying.
