Vigna Nuova Suites

This is a wonderful, comfortable, sophisticated apartment only 5 minutes walk from the centre of Florence. All of the facilities were amazing and Andreia was a very helpful host giving us some really good advice for places to eat and things to do.

Nothing we didn’t like

Excellent, central location. Great bathroom with walk-in shower. Has dishwasher and (small) washing machine. Host enabled early check-in at midday.

There were several good things about this apartment but we thought there were two things that were so bad that - on balance - we wouldn’t stay there again. These were: - the mattress was old and like a lumpy rock. Very uncomfortable! - The air conditioning was ineffective (even with the fan set on its maximum speed, you can barely feel any air moving with your hand literally right where the vent is). That meant we had to leave some windows open at night,so we were then bitten by lots of mosquitoes. Those two problems combined meant we had the worst sleep we’ve had in years of staying in many Airbnb’s around the world. Despite the great location, those two problems are not good enough for an apartment at this price point.

In order to check in, we had to coordinate with the owner of the apartment to give us a tour of the apartment and give us the key. It was very difficult to coordinate the meeting and the issue became very cumbersome during the day and caused a lot of stress.

Check-out at 10:30 a.m. There is no place to store belongings and the walking distance from the train is very long.
