had a lovely stay. Neil is wonderful; the room was extremely warm despite the cold season, and the bed particularly comfortable. will return with pleasure.

This was a really nice stay, which is not so far from Edinburgh city centre. Basically everything about the Smiths' Guest House was perfect. The room for one is small but really cozy, it has all that you need for a short trip. The room is cleaned every day (if I'm not wrong) and it has a label on the door, which have "do not disturb" side and "please to clean" side. The house is calm and quiet and the owner is a very nice guy! I totally recommend it to everyone, as it is a nice stay for a reasonable price.
The only thing that triggered me off, was that the room itself was quite cold, the radiator is working and heats, but it is still not so chill at night and in the mornings. My friend said, that this might be because the house itself is older. So I recommend to bring additional sweater or something to wrap yourself in. Besides that, I have nothing more to say from the bad side.

The owner was very welcoming, and the location is a stone's throw to the bus stop.
It was surprising to see that the bed was laid daily and the bin bag was replaced, but the room was not cleaned up. Still had dirts here and there on the floor.
The electric kettle was also very dirty, and we could not boil water with it. The hand wash we met was barely enough for one day, and I was wondering why the toilet was cleaned up, but the hand was never refilled for the 5 days we spent.
