Very enjoyable stay in a lovely resort with great staff

Lovely place and excellent staff. Our room (Rama) was large and comfortable, with a nice outdoor shower. Very nice outdoor seating area to the front with a view of garden and the mountains. Lovely grounds, pool area and outdoor covered dining area. Only a few minutes walk to the beach. The dinner menu offers a good choice of dishes, both local and western. We had dinner on 3 evenings and the quality of the food was very high on each occasion. We also enjoyed an Ashtanga yoga class.

Very minor points, the pillows were very soft, according to my wife the hairdryer was poor. Outside the control of the resort, but there was the sound of gunfire from the nearby army range for periods, albeit not too loud, but it does detract a bit from what is otherwise a very peaceful setting with very little traffic noise.

Great place to stay with your family during your trip to Pemuteran

Check-in was quick and easy. Location is superb - Close to all restaurants, diving centers in Pemuteran. Room was connected, suitable for family and larger groups. Pool, wifi, restaurants, and massage place available. Really enjoy staying here, felt like travelling in Bali during earlier times when it's really local vibes and not overcrowded with hype places. You can see the mountain/hills from the hotels.

Our family can smell some trash burning during the day, really unpleasant smell. The outdoor shower can be improved - Water was not flowing much, mosquitos are expected

I absolutely would go back because of the high standards of Tauruna

The staff and room were so nice it was clean and well run. I felt so well looked after by the staff who were polite and always ready to help if needed. It was the little touches like a beach bag beach towels and use of an umbrella if it rained. The food was next level tasty and beautifully presented every day had a small welcome drink with roasted nuts. Breakfast set me up for the day. Fruit toast and eggs. Juice tea or coffee. This was included so great value. There were no visible mosquitoes and every evening they lit a coil by every room.

Only negative is you can hear the sound of the road and there is no pavement when you walk to the beach.

Beautiful gardens and exceptional staff.

The accommodation consists of beautifully presented bungalows which maintain privacy by the clever use of dark glass and foliage. The bed is very comfortable, toiletries and tea/coffee making facilities are provided and the daily cleaning service is excellent. We also enjoyed the uniqueness of the outside shower. The pool is lovely and the extensive gardens are beautifully maintained with an array of tropical plants, trees and lawns which offer a feeling of tranquility. There is a very well priced spa and wellness centre on site offering a good choice of treatments. All staff at Taruna are friendly, professional and polite and are always ready to engage in conversation with guests. Based on our experience, we feel able to recommend Taruna Homestay unreservedly.

Whilst tea/coffee making facilities were provided in the room, there was no coffee available which we would have liked.

They had a lovely pool and we also used the day spa. The restaurant was great, but slightly more expensive than others in the area. The service was wonderful in all areas. Loved the outside shower. The Gift shop/art gallery was really good value!!

Nothing about the hotel. The road out the front was busy but it did not impact once inside the hotel grounds.

Beautiful small hotel with great food

Wonderful, friendly staff and beautiful gardens. Small but lovely pool area. The local food at the restaurant was great - the fish in banana leaf was delicious as was the lemongrass soda drink. We had a large comfortable suite room.

Our suite was at the back of the hotel, adjoining local neighbours. There was a strong smell of dung/manure coming into from there and sometimes they burnt rubbish in that back neighbour area which was unpleasant. This is not the fault of Taruna and obviously neighbours are free to do as they wish on their land but it did impact our enjoyment of the open bathroom. The walk into town is a little long and the road rough but we hired a scooter, so the problem was solved.

Great gem of a place, simply beautiful and relaxing.

Truly a gem of a place. The gardens grounds are well laid out and planned. Every thing is clean and well maintained. The rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet. . The breakfast was great. Fresh juice, coffee, fresh fruit, choice of egg with toast or banana pancake. Staff are all very nice and sweet. Great restaurant and spa on-site. Got a great massage and a pedicure with my wife.

very friendly staff and a nice, clean and comfortable stay. We booked a deluxe family room, clean and sober rooms. Good breakfast.and good restaurant for afternoon and evening. Pool and massages available. Situated along the main road it is a 700m walk to the beach. We can absolutely recommend to stay here.

Pool was good and the room had a moskitos net and other insect preventing measurements, working air conditioning and open bathroom. the staff was friendly and mostly very helpful. The breakfast is presented nicley overall we enjoyed our stay but would never stay in a similar hotel again because of the crazy amout of insects and animals that can invade the room and bite or make loud noises

We rented a motorbike for 70k through the hotel but it was in horrible condition and not even the meter was working and it didnt show if we had fuel or not (it was stuck at empty) when told the reception he was very cold and unapologetic and acted as if it was normal. differnt geckos entered the room and made loud gecko noises and the bathroom was full of centipedes and moskitos We didnt enjoy the breakfast, its just 2 coocked eggs or pancakes or noodles or fried rice and you can order 2 other things (medium portion of fruit and a drink)

Such a magical little place

This is such a lovely little place. So charming. The room was very nice with an outside bathroom, so amazing in the heat. The restaurant was very lovely to be in, they have the best juices, and the staff was so helpful. Taruna, the owner came by both mornings when we had breakfast to have a little chat, and he was so friendly. So was Anda, his uncle, who checked us in. The location was perfect, close to the beach and the mountains where you can watch the gorgeous sunset. The pool was located in the garden and you also have the best view to the mountain when you swim in it. Such a magical place.

This was our best homestay at Bali. The staf was super friendly, the food was also super delicious. would 100% recommend this place. If you need anything just ask the staff and they will arrange it for you. I’ve been to Bali many many times (I’ve also been to bigger resorts), this property is now in my top 5.

I never took the breakfast - they don't offer fruit, only rice/noodles. So I took my breakfast elsewhere. There is soap in the washroom. Plenty of hot water. Both bath and pool towels available for use. For a Bali beach town, cleaning is acceptable. But not great. Seems like not many guests for quite some time. I was the only person there, during my stay. Easy to find, because it's on the side of the main road. The reception is a gift shop/money exchange. Not so much traffic noise, at least for me, but it's corona-time, so not much traffic in general. I would say the kindest thing they did was to move my laundry rack for me before the rain got close.

The male staff are friendly and helpful. The woman is less so; makes me feel less like human, more like a transaction. The first impression, upon arriving, was subpar; you'd think they'd consider the importance of that. Not sure what exactly happens during room cleaning; my soap in the bathroom was moved, but sink wasn't cleaned, the dead ant was exactly in the same spot. So why touch my things??? The closet had space taken up by the bug net, as if I was supposed to hang it myself. Only 1 of the bedside lamps work. The other one, is barely hanging on. Power outlets need help. Found some hairs nearby, that weren't mine. Wifi either disconnects or is excruciatingly slow. All I'm doing is checking emails or Twitter! Pool is useable but all the loungers have not been cleaned for a quite some time, and dead leaves all over. Nowhere to sit at all.

It was a disappointing stay for us.

The room was clean and comfortable, the gardens maintained and the property has a lovely pool. The staff are lovely.

The fact that the restaurant and spa were closed was disappointing. This is understandable with the Covid 19 situation but it should be mentioned at the time of booking. The site only advises that the bar is closed, it should be bar, restaurant and spa are closed. Breakfast was included with two options nasi goreng (fried rice) and mie goreng (fried noodles). We only stayed one night.
