The staff were really friendly and efficient. Food was amazing and great value for money. The building isn’t luxurious but it is very clean and the place has a friendly warm atmosphere.

We thought it was in Reeth so a bit surprised to find we had a 5 minute drive to meet friends ... but not a problem. The room was not super modern but it was comfortable quiet and warm. Staff were very helpful and obliging, breakfast was served to order and the evening meal was very good and good value. Altogether a nice country pub with a big car park and a bookshop next door.

The location was perfect for our purposes and an easy walk into Reeth (about three-quarters of a mile). The food was standard pub fare, but the staff were very friendly.
The inn is old and traditional so we didn't expect smart rooms, but the whole place is in need of redecoration. Earplugs are advisable as the church clock across the road strikes every fifteen minutes.
