The Burgoyne provided a comfy and luxurious stay in the midst of Yorkshire's gorgeous scenery. We had just finished hiking a portion of the Coast to Coast path, which led right into the village. Our room on the top floor (the Ivelet room) had a view over the cute village green and lots of space to spread out. Our other room was on the middle floor (the Fremington room) and less spacious but still lovely. Christine gave us a warm welcome and cheerfully managed breakfast for all of us and the other guests, too - and breakfast was very yummy. We also got packed lunches for an extra fee. The decor is maximalist in a fun way, and there is a lounge as well as space to sit outside if the weather cooperated.

Fabulous views over looking the fells and green. Lovely seating area in front of the hotel to enjoy the scenery.
We dined in the restaurant and it was delicious, my husband had lamb and he said it was the best he’d ever had, kudos to the chef. 5 star breakfast too. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, especially Christine and the gentleman. We will definitely return.

Location of hotel was spectacular. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was lovely.
On all three days there wasn't hot water, it was tepid at best. There was a leak in the roof outside our room which was worrying because there were electrical wires exposed and getting wet. The cleaner left our room wide open with the hotel master key in the door after cleaning. We received an apology but even so, you don't really expect this. Although rated AA 5* hotel, in our opinion it was more like a 4* B&B It was very expensive for the size of the room and the lack of facilities in the hotel.
