Loved the decor- our bedroom was a delightful change from your average hotel room . Easy going atmosphere was very relaxing for a holiday. Chocolate marquise was unbelievable! Though porridge and syrup was a close second
Perhaps a better warning on booking that the dining room was closed Monday and Tuesday. We were a bit taken aback - even more explanation on welcoming e-mail that all was available next door.

Gorgeous hotel, lovely rooms, dining area, staff. Free parking.
Check out at 10am was too early. Would have preferred 11am.

The decor is so lovely, the location is fantastic and the staff are so nice. We particularly enjoyed some cocktails in the snug. The way the hotel is decorated is really tasteful. The breakfast was delicious and the host at breakfast was so lovely.
There were a few things that fell short given the price and with the over all feel that could be improved. A coffee machine instead of instant coffee, the bed was rather creeky, the shower did have some black mould around it too. The room also smelled of damp which was a shame and the air purifier in the room confirmed the presence of damp. We were on the ground floor next to the bar / restaurant so it was noice late at night and early in the morning sadly.

The breakfast was fine. The staff were very good indeed.
The room is (in spite of claims about recent refurbishment) rather tired. The door didn’t fit properly and banged every time someone walked past in the corridor. The radiators and windows need to be replaced. The public areas are well done, however.
