Uncomfortable - rock hard mattresses

The location is great (right in front of Plaka beach and the bus stop which was convenient). Most staff were nice.

This is a very dated hotel. Looked like from the 80s. I could look past that however the mattresses were rock hard. I was dreading bed time every night and that's not how you want to feel on a vacation. Very dated bathroom too. Breakfast had a lot of options but bad quality. Overall, not a good value for money at all (August rate), sadly I wouldn't stay here again.

Lovely hotel and lovely staff! :)

Room seamed new and very clean. Staff is super kind, girls from the pool bar and beach waitress were extremely helpful, friendly, sweet and kind. They really made our stay and helped a lot.

I had a few ants in my room, bathroom specifically, but I figured they come because of water and the nature around, because hotel has a lot of greenery and threes which was nice. Hotel guests still have to pay for the umbrella and sun-bed sets ( if they want the one with the umbrella), but it wasn’t expensive. Another type of more simple sun-bed without umbrella is available free of charge.

Good hotel with a nice breakfast. Staff was helpful and lovely

Beautiful, close to the beach and clean

The beds are really hard and the wifi was not consistent. What I did not like was the staff in the mini market were arguing in Greek (I knew what they were saying) in front of tourists. Not very professional.

Overpriced for what you get.

Pool area was nice. Other guests (mainly German) were very civil and no rushes for loungers/loud noises.

You have to pay to use the beach beds even as a guest - if I had known, I would have chosen a cheaper alternative also with no beach access. You cannot drink the tap water, yet no bottled water is provided - you have to purchase it from the hotel which is unreasonable as a basic necessity. Breakfast has variety but is not good quality, so I skipped this several times. Coffee and tea is not refilled in the room and you must ask reception for more. As a 3* property, I wasn't expecting the world but they failed to meet the basics.

The food and service was excellent. Bus stop outside and beach just a few steps away. Lovely pool and a decent size for excercise

Quaint hotel with excellent views that could use a little updating but would highly recommend a stay

Plaza Beach Hotel was very quaint. It was located at an excellent part of the beach with easy access to beach beds and umbrellas (for an extra cost however if you ask at the front desk they will provide an umbrella for your stay which we weren't aware of until check out). It is also very easy to walk to nearby restaurants. The pool and pool bar were really nice. Our view from our room and balcony was incredible. The free breakfast was nice and having the market on site was an added bonus. The staff were friendly and accommodating

We had two rooms and one of them had a strong odor that never went away. The mattresses are extremely hard and there are no blankets unless requested. You only get a sheet. It appears they are working to update and remodel the facilities but they are still a bit dated.

Better than we expected

Great experience, excellent staff and facilities. A large pool, with an excellent pool bar and snacks. The beach is directly in front of the hotel where you could secure sunbeds easily and order a cold coffee and have it delivered. Bus stops right out the front with frequent services to Chora with many stops on the way. Mini Market underneath the pool area open until late. Great dining options walking distance. Much less crowded than other parts of Naxos.

Beautiful location by the sea

We chose the Plaza Beach Hotel because our friends were getting married at a nearby beach, so we chose it mainly for the location. The location is very beautiful, right on the gorgeous Aegean Sea. We were lucky to get a room with a terrace overlooking the sea, where we watched the sunset. Straight out of a postcard. The beach is literally in front of the hotel and there are a few different places to rent umbrellas and sun beds a few minutes' walk from the hotel. Our room was simple but had ample storage space and the bed was quite big and comfortable. The room was very clean, and we noticed that cleanliness was prioritized throughout the property. Breakfast was good, a buffet with hot and cold options, both savory and sweet, such as eggs, bacon, pan fried vegetables, vegetable and chicken pie, Greek yogurt, fresh fruit, cakes, pancakes, bread, jam, pastries. Most things were the same every morning, but there were always a couple of daily specials which made it more interesting. The pool area was well kept and although the sun beds are not super comfortable, they were available for free and there were a good number of them. We never had an issue finding one. We had lunch twice at the pool bar and everything that we tried was better than we expected. The staff was helpful and polite, without exception, from the receptionists to the waiting staff to the cleaning staff. You can rent a car/quad/moped directly from the hotel reception for one day, which can be very convenient for exploring the island. A bus stop right in front of the hotel serves a bus line that takes you to Naxos Town in about 30 minutes. It runs every half hour, from about 7 in the morning until midnight. It was extremely convenient to visit the town and have dinner there without having to drive. There is a mini market right in the hotel, which has a bit of everything, from sun cream to fruit, water, snacks, sun hats etc.

I would recommend the Plaza Beach Hotel to anyone going to Plaka. If I have to find fault with something, the shower wasn't great, and I would have preferred more comfortable sun beds in the pool area, but these are just small details. Some of the breakfast items could have been better, like the fresh bread. Something to flag, which has nothing to do with the hotel but with Plaka, is that this area is often windy, we found 2 days of strong winds which made it impossible to be at the beach. We spent some of the time by the pool but that too became uncomfortable at one point. Probably a good time to rent a vehicle and explore the island.

I pick this hotel so i could come back to peace and quite to recharge by a pool and beach

It was exactly what I wanted: a relaxing spot away from the higher traffic areas. It was 8 minutes by car from all the restaurants and shops in Agia and 4 minutes from Plaka beach. The pool was amazing, and to get to the beach where the water was perfect, all you had to do was cross a dirt road and a very, very short walk to the cabanas, about 50 - 100 feet. Everything was amazing, I didn't spend too much time at the hotel because I was out and about.

Everything was great, 9.8/10. The reviews were spot on and accurate, and the hotel lived up to my expectations and exceeded other expectations I had. The hotel fit every requirement I was looking for, close to the beach, had a pool (mass pool considering other options on island), had grass, great AC, rooms were plenty big, had a porch (balcony if on 2nd level), was quiet, was away from all the action, had parking, had a gym. The place was amazing. I would 10/10 stay here again. The food could have been a tiny bit better, but I only ate twice at my hotel in 5 days. I didn't fly 12 hours to eat food at a hotel

Perfect stay on Plaka beach

We booked a triple room for two people which was nice and spacious and offered a sea view. Comfy beds and good amenities in the room. Pool area was lovely. Staff were very welcoming and extremely helpful and we really appreciated their assistance in helping us making reservations with restaurants nearby, booking bicycles and arranging airport transfer. The location is perfect along a beautiful stretch of beach.

A great family-friendly hotel, super clean, near Plaka beach

The pool was excellent. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and varied for all tastes. It is very close to Plaka beach, so that was also very nice. It is a family-friendly resort. We stayed one night as the villa we booked wouldn't be available until the next night and it was comfortable. I anticipated a sort of basic, 3 star resort style ibiza accommodation, but it was much, much better than that. Super clean, friendly staff, guests were nice and respectful, too. A great place to stay in Naxos.

Best Beach House in Greece: Plaza Beach Hotel, Naxos

From Sept 10 to 18 we flew from Athens to Naxos for 8 nights at Plaza Beach Hotel on Plaka Beach, which we enjoyed in 2018. Again this year we loved it. It's the best combination of a great beach and a comfy hotel with good service we've found, after visiting a dozen Greek islands and towns. Hotel staff are so welcoming and helpful. And: location, location! Plaka Beach is one of the longest and most beautiful in Greece (photos 1, 2). When we flew into Naxos, the hotel had a taxi waiting at the airport and in 15 minutes we were on the sand at Plaka Beach. Reception kindly arranged this by email in advance, along with a perfect room (they worked hard to meet our special requests). Be sure to ask for a second floor room with ocean view; the sunsets on your balcony alone are worth it (photos 3, 4). The rooms are especially clean and comfortable. Reception also arranged a good rental car with Maragas Cars at a reasonable price, delivered right to us. Ilias Papazisis and all the restaurant staff are very kind and friendly. Ilias is a special friend who helped me a lot when I began to study Greek in 2018. He even remembered me this time, four years later, after we had to wait so long for Covid to travel – and again he helped me with tips on Greek pronunciation. Restaurant seating is outdoors by the pool with good shade cover available (photo 5). Breakfast is excellent, a large buffet with hand-baked Greek specialties; one morning it's fresh tomato pie, the next it's cheese pie with herbs. Locally-grown items like tomatoes and cheese in Naxos are incredibly flavorful. There are also several egg, bacon, and sausage dishes, delicious Greek bread, chocolate and other croissants, cakes, yogurt, cereals, fruit, even cappucino!

Perfect beach getaway

Right on the most beautiful 4km of beach! Water was calm and clear, loved that and the pools as well were clean and large. Pool bar was good but not a place for fine dining. My favourite beach here so far. Breakfast was great and had a good variety

Distance to town 10 mins by taxi so added to costs but it was ok and we loved the beach.

Peaceful, perfect, paradise

Amazing pool and superb location. Quiet and removed from the busy tourist areas which was exactly what I was looking for. We didn't pay for sunbeds on the beach but I heard some people did at a rate of 15Eur a day which seems excessive. We had ours complimentary though and every day we used them they gave us a complimentary litre bottle of water and peanuts which was a great touch. We loved our stay and would definately stay there again. The breakfast every day was pretty similar but lots of choice, hot and cold and couldn't fault it. Some fantastic restaurants nearby - some 5 mins away and some 15 mins away walking. Bus stop right outside the hotel and the bus service is fantastic.

Great hotel by the beach

The staff is lovely, the pools are great, location could not be better with the beach at 15m, a supermarket and a bus stop. Great restaurants by the beach as well, just ask for recommendations at the Reception.

Rooms could be renovated, they are very old for the price you pay. The shower space in the bathroom could be larger. Breakfast could be better (a toaster would be lovely) and opening times could be better observed (7:30 is not 7:50). The juices could also be natural. Other than these little annoyances everything was perfect.
