The property is beautiful and in a great location if you want to be close to doutonburi
The amount I paid on booking.com seemed sognificantly higher than the hotel rates. We also decided not to have the breakfast we paid for and this was non refundable.

Perfect location, next to Dotonbori, not far from the subway, you go out and enjoy the nightlife right away. Very good Japanese breakfast, pretty good free coffee and a friendly staff. We also appreciated the hot tub bath.
The luggage storage outside the check in time is only possible in a paid locker. The bathroom could use a renovation, it looks not the cleanest due to aging.

The location is excellent. The bathhouse in basement is good to have.
The room was rather cramped and when we requested storage for our luggage for a short while, we were directed to luggage lockers which ended up costing us ¥1600. We only needed to leave the luggage for 1 hour. We have stayed in Yamatoya Honten before (in 2013) so we were disappointed that short term luggage storage wasn’t free.
