The villa is located in a beautiful and authentic village, which had all the necessary facilities, very quiet, suitable for a family with kids; the beach and other smaller towns accessible by car. Chania not very far as well.

This place is in a gorgeous spot. lovely little village with everything you could need on the doorstep and views out to the mountains. It is well equipped with some lovely touches, great bbq, etc. We were only there a week and the cleaner came in half way through which we hadn’t expected and was a nice bonus!
The courtyard was a total sun trap but inside everything kept so nice and cool with the shutters. The hostess, Maria, was lovely and really helpful. she sent us daily ideas for trips too and some great restaurants. Great service!
A few things didn’t work. The TV, and then halfway through the oven stopped working. To be fair it took under 48 hours to send someone to fix this but if you only have six full days there in total, that’s a bit annoying.
I also don’t know if we were the first people of the season, but the heated pool was really not very warm. we had a message the day we were due to arrive explaining that it wouldn’t be that warm because the air temperature wasn’t - the way it works is to be 8 degrees higher than the air. I later wondered if there was an issue though because as the week went on it got much warmer outside and was in the mid 20s, but there is no way at all the pool was ever 30 degrees, or even close. there was definitely some heating and it was just about ok for our toddler, but don’t expect warmth!
Also a small note that if you have very young children it isn’t ideal. There is a lot of stone and sharp corners, the patio is sloped with uneven surface, the downstairs is not all flat (there’s a step up to the ,kitchen). Our daughter loved it there, but we felt ‘on guard’ with her the whole time.

The house had fruits and wine, and Maria - the staff, was super helpful and always reachable no matter the time.
