Villa Gaia exceeded every expectation and was one of the highlights of our entire trip through Europe. The location is simply unbeatable. You’re just a short stroll from the beautiful Piazza Duomo, yet tucked away enough to enjoy peace and quiet after a busy day exploring. Everything is at your doorstep – a Decò supermarket is only about 50 metres away, along with a laundromat, charming little cafés for a relaxed breakfast, fantastic coffee, bakeries and some of the best restaurants in Taormina. It made everything so easy. A special mention has to go to Josephine and Lara. They are the heart and soul of Villa Gaia. From the moment we arrived they made us feel like family, always greeting us with a smile, offering local recommendations, helping with anything we needed and genuinely caring that we had the best possible experience. Their hospitality is world-class and is one ofthe main reasons we’d return without hesitation. Our room was spotless, comfortable and beautifully maintained, and waking up to views towards Mount Etna was something we’ll never forget. Every morning and evening felt magical. One of our favourite discoveries was Villa Zuccaro, only a minute’s walk away. The food, atmosphere and beautiful garden setting were outstanding. We ended up eating there more than once because it was simply that good. It quickly became one of our favourite restaurants in all of Sicily. Being able to wander through the historic streets, stop for an espresso at the local cafés, grab fresh pastries for breakfast, shop whenever we needed at Decò, then return to such a welcoming place each evening made our stay unforgettable. We’ve stayed in many hotels around the world, but Villa Gaia stands out because it combines an incredible location with genuinely exceptional people. Josephine and Lara don’t just provide accommodation—they create an experience that makes you feel at home. If you’re visiting Taormina, don’t waste time looking elsewhere.

Excellent location and a comfortable, well-maintained guest house that serves as an ideal base for exploring Taormina. Its greatest asset is Josephine, whose exceptional hospitality truly sets the property apart. She consistently goes above and beyond to assist her guests in every way possible.

Beautiful location near all the restaurants. Shops and Greek theatre. Everything within walking distance. Josephine was wonderfully warm, helpful and informative. The staff including Laura were so kind and one of the ladies who cleans the room. She rescued some clothing drying on the balcony which had blown off. The room was just as described ...spacious and charming with a spectacular view of the sea and Mount Etna.
I found it a bit noisy because its next door to a bar that was open quite late. The pillows could be softer.

Location is great, just at the entrance of Taormina main shopping street, and few steps from the main central car park. You just walk 10 minutes from the car park to reach the hotel and the steps are not a big deal. Even you are close to main attractions, it is a very quiet hotel. Josephine, the owner, gave you all necessary information in just 5 minutes.
The rooms need renovation, the balcony is shared so it should be stated for the ones with privacy preference. For me the main deal breaker is the hygiene issues. The villa smells awful (not the rooms) but the main entrance really smells awful and it kills all the good vibes. The villa and the rooms are full of objects and stuff, looks not organized and gives you a feeling of messiness. Next time would not be my preference if these are not corrected.
