Real house vibes

This place has a real homely vibe. The facilities were modest and simple, but in the best way possible. The room was very warm, and the location was perfect. The staff were kind and helpful. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed my stay!

Honestly, there were no 'nos' and a lot of 'yeses'! 😀 You should definitely stay here when you're in Vilnius.

I recommend

I paid a little more for the larger room which was worth it. So much space made me feel more at ease. It was not a crowded dorm and my roommates were lovely and considerate. I met amazing people there. It was easy to locate - took the number 88 to Muziejus bust stop and it was only a little over 5 mins walk from there to the hostel. The staff member assisted me on how to take the night bus from the same location. Hostel is in a side street off a main road full of cafes and restaurants. The street after that is the Town Hall. Very good location, space, comfortable bed, facilities, staff etc I recommend.

You can hear noise from other rooms but this is not a huge deal. In general I found it to be a quiet hostel.

Pleasant stay

The staff was really nice, and we liked the kitchen with all of the necessities. The beds were okay and the room was big.

We didn't like the bathrooms which were really tiny. It was also a bit cold in the bathrooms.

The hostel is really central, the location is great. Amenities are good and clean and the staff is very helpful. There's a yard to relax and the access is easy (there are stairs though).

The sinks in the shared bathrooms are really small, brushing teeth is easier when done in the shower. One of the toilets is really close to the wall, it's impossible to sit down with long legs - the other bathroom is fine though.

Staff friendly and all communications where great. I arrived late at night and I could self check in with no problem. Location is good.

The room on the lower floor are a bit unfortunate. Darker, gloomier, with one small toilet. You may want to ask for upper floor rooms, which are more comfortable and sunnier, with two bathrooms available with windows and shower.

Best staff in Vilnius!

The staff was very nice! The house has everything you'll need for your visit. You can't get a better location in Vilnius. It is located on a smaller street right of the old town - you get the location and lose the noise. There was a fan in the room as well ass both the windows and balcony doors could be opened to handle the summer heat. I will definitely book my next stay in Vilnius at Mikalo House.

Some things seemed a bit run down, bathroom needed a new coat of paint etc. It was however nothing that ruined my experience.

Close to the city center and great value

I had a great stay at this hostel in Vilnius and would definitely give it 5 stars! The location is ideal - right in the city center, or just about a 10-minute walk from it, making it super convenient for sightseeing. It’s also around 20 minutes on foot from both the international bus station and the train station, which made getting in and out of the city really easy. The girl at the reception was amazing - super friendly and helpful. She gave me a city map and shared some extra tips on what to see and do around Vilnius, which I really appreciated. I had requested a lower bunk and was happy to see they honored that, which made my stay even more comfortable. The hostel itself was very quiet and peaceful, which was a huge plus for me. Perfect if you're looking for a calm, relaxing place to stay while exploring the city. Internet speed is around 30Mb down, it's ok but would wish it was around 100/150Mb. Highly recommended - great location, friendly staff, and a really chill atmosphere!

Great stay and value for money.

Amazing location, right by the old town. Loads of restaurants and a grocery store nearby. The receptionist was lovely. I arrived a few hours before check in time and she was able to accommodate me. The hostel was incredibly clean. Kitchen had everything you needed.

The mattress was quite thin and you could feel the bed boards a bit. Room overlooked the street and got quite noisy with people shouting at night.

A real gem in the heart of Vilnius Old Town

This is a smiall, friendly hostel in the heart of the old town area. There are plenty of restaurants, bars and coffee shops close to the hostel. Good kitchen facilities and ensuite shower room and toilet was an added benefit. The manager, Ms Ira, was extremely helpful and professional

It was a bit of a struggle for me to manage the three flights of stairs up to my attic room. Otherwise no issues at all.

Phenomenal stay for the second time at Mikalo House

This was my night staying at this hostel after staying here for a night 3 days before. Again, Ira was an expectional receptionist and great communicator. I was able to store and collect my big luggage bag with no issues on my arrival again after 3 days. Despite the limited receptionist hours, everything went smoothly. Dorm rooms had sockets near each bed, heating was present, and lockers were provided (locks were needed though). toilets were clean and hot water was present. The hostel was in the middle of the town which made it very easy to explore the old town with no issues. The hostel was a less than a 20min walk away from the bus station and also the bus stop to lead to the airport was not far either. There was a rule of no shoes allowed in the main hostel area, which made the place feel a lot cleaner. Great value for money hostel. Highly recommend it for people staying for short or long stays.

Like before, I did not have a towel as I forgot to ask. For future visitors it would be nice to ask them about if towels are required as after reception hours I was not able to communicate to get access to a towel. It was not the end of the world, thus only a minor suggestion.
