Gasthof Edelweiss

Lage optimal, Frühstück passabel

Gasthof Edelweiss is a family-run pension/B&B having a history of over 100 years. I stayed for two nights and enjoyed a hike along the Semmering Railway. The environment is calm and quiet, but close to the information office and a supermarket. The owner is so kind and attentive that the stay was really comfortable, I am happy to stay at Gasthof Edelweiss. Some comments say the variety of the breakfast is limited, but I think the variety meets the standard, including vegetables (tomato, cucumber, bell pepper), cheese and ham, bread, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruits, egg, milk/coffee/juice.

The wifi connection was not stable in the annex.

Sehr ruhig und im Zentrum

The room and bed were comfortable and very clean. Nice bed linen, nice room. The bathroom was cramped but functional. The towel was thin. Breakfast was simple continental, what you would expect in Austria. The staff, which seemed to really consist of one lady, was friendly and seemed to run the place as a one woman event. Overall, the place seemed to be a little past its salad days, a valid reflection of the town of Semmering. I expect this is less apparent in winter, when guests, and presumably staff, are more in evidence.

I think the towel could be replaced.
