About this house rental
Location location location!!! Our 3 bedroom 2 bath Mountain Lodge style townhouse is located on the Animas River. The heart of downtown is a 5 minute walk. Access to the river trail is next to the property. There are also extensive gardens on the property.
Our 2300 sq ft home was built in 2008 using green energy efficient materials. The unit is upstairs and includes an elevator for access at the front door, a garage space with an EV charging station, stairs up to the back of the unit, and on street parking. There are code locks on the doors, so no keys are needed. There is a mudroom at both the front and back entrances for ski and snow board storage in the winter.
The living area is a modern open concept with a large island in the kitchen. The gourmet kitchen has stainless appliances, an efficient induction cooktop, lots of counter space, and is equipped with everything you need. There is a Nespresso coffee machine with provided pods as well as a regular coffee machine. The dining room seats up to eight people.
The living room includes a gas fireplace and large screen TV. It has a perfect open entertaining area, including double sliding doors which open up to the back deck with seating and a gas grill. This porch overlooks the Animas River.
There are hardwood bamboo floors throughout the house with in floor heating. The house has air conditioning as well as lots of screened windows to let in the cool mountain air and light.
The home can sleep up to 6 people. There are 2 bedrooms on the main level with queen sized beds and a full bath. Both of theses bedrooms have small tv’s.
The upper level has 6 steps. There is a full sized washer and dryer. The primary has a king sized bed and a luxurious bathroom with double vessel sinks. There is a large screen TV in this bedroom and a large walk in closet. Double doors lead out to the front deck area. This deck overlooks the neighborhood and Perrin’s Peak.
We have Wi-fi and smart large screen TV's with cable access and Roku. We have a clip on baby highchair, portable adjustable crib, stroller and baby monitor.. Our unit is cleaned with antibacterial products. It is a non smoking unit. Unfortunately we cannot allow pets.

We had a great stay! This unit is really comfortable and very well appointed. It’s an easy walk to downtown across the suspension bridge, immediately adjacent to the property. We learned to appreciate heated floors on cold mornings. We are looking forward to going back.

The location is fabulous! We loved the close proximity to the river trail and the downtown restaurants. While in the property, we spent most of our time on the back deck, which everyone enjoyed. The upstairs bedroom and bath are spacious. Two bedrooms downstairs are small but adequate. The property was very well stocked. The owners live next door and are very helpful.Only a couple of problems: there’s a note on the sliding door to the back deck warning that the door locks from inside. It’s dimly lit inside and if the latch is in the locked position, the door will still open easily—no tugging. But if you close it behind you, you’re locked out. This really should be fixed. The caution is misleading. After we were locked out and the owner rescued us, it became a running joke when the rest of our party arrived.A minor problem was that the dinner plates are too big to fit in the dishwasher. We used salad plates all 10 days rather than hand wash the big plates. Also, if you are sensitive to dust, be advised there are a lot of dust magnets: abundant decorative items, particularly on the living room shelves, artificial plants, throw rugs, honeycomb shades, shag carpet, and old furniture. However, the decor is interesting and mountain themed contributing to a fun vacation atmosphere. The owners put together a book with restaurants listed and reviewed that we found very helpful. Both bathrooms had a large supply of nice towels.
