Highly recommend. A quiet and friendly house with a magnificent view.

This property was excellent. The hostess, Christine, was absolutely lovely, even picking us up from the train station and giving us a small drive around town to orient us. The house looks out over the lake from a bit higher up a hill. The facilities for coffee, tea, etc. were plentiful. There were tables to sit out at in a common large and comfortable area. The room was clean and comfy. The bathroom with white fluffy towels was excellent.

Truly a dream by the lake

Fantastic place! Amazing view from the common living areas with wide open glass wall. The owners are absolutely wonderfull. Very friendly and kind giving you the warmest welcome you can expect. I would happily return and I highly recommend it.

Great rooms with the most amazing host!

Fabio and Christina were excellent hosts! The house is a little outside town and most restaurants (about 20min uphill) and Fabio was always willing to drive us to and from dinner, to the grocery store, to the trailhead for hikes, anything. He also helped us set up dinner reservations and suggested hikes and activities. He was amazing! The house has a beautiful view of the lake and nice common spaces with everything you need to cook if you want to. The rooms are big, clean, and comfortable. This was a great place to stay!

Exceeded expectations

Everything. Above all, Fabio and Cristina were amazing hosts and went above and beyond gor us. Fabio drove us to/from the station and dropped us off at the restaurants we wanted to go to, and really took care of us. The location was excellent, great view of the lake. The room and villa were also super clean, spacious and comfortable (better than a hotel) with all the amenities necessary..

Amazing hosts in a funky property in a beautiful part of the world.

Fabio is a fantastic host. On arrival he took time to go through all the local attractions, things to do, places to eat. There are 2 well equipped kitchens, with everything you could need. The whole place is funky, with lots of colourful touches. We had an issue with our booking (my error), Fabio went out of his way to sort everything, and just made things simple, he and his partner were really nice. There were other people coming and going in the kitchens, but it didn't feel cramped and there was plenty of room. You can see Islo Bella from the kitchen!

The walk down to the port area is a steep 7 minute walk and 10 to come back. The drive way up to the property is also a quick steep drive.

We had a lovely stay at un Sogno al Lago. Rooms are very cool and nicely decorated and the common area is perfect Location is amazing with a stunning view on the lake Maggiore and the borromean islands. Fabio and Cristina, the hosts are so friendly, helpful and warm. They provided us with a lot of recommendations and tips to visit Stresa and the Islands. Views of the lake - spectacular. The rooms are higher quality than most hotels, far more spacious, and there are two kitchens to cook in, one of which gives you the chance to dine with floor-to-ceiling views of Lago Maggiore. Fabio and Cristina are most gracious and welcoming hosts. A+

Would be splitting hairs to find anything major… would definitely stay there again. I would recommend to anyone except those allergic to pets.

Outstanding stay with so nice owners

We had a beautiful stay with Fabio and Cristina. The facilities are outstanding. Fabio and Cristina are so kind, they like their city and want to share the places to go and where to eat. 5’ to the lake for a beautiful walk. We will definitely go back to their place next time we plan a trip to Stresa.

A beautiful place to stay!

Our room and bathroom were comfortable, ample, and clean. We had access to the home and it was beautiful! The hosts provide anything you would need to prepare a meal in a nice space upstairs as well as downstairs. There are 3 large refrigerators, many cups, mugs, choices of tea or coffee. There are two washing machines for guests to use. The sauna and steam room were also nice. The frontroom is very comfortable, and there are large lake-facing windows to look out! Cristina was very helpful and kind. She went out of her way to make us feel at home. We would definitely stay here again.

Exceptional Upmarket Accommodation.

Beautiful accommodation. Very stylish, very clean, exceptional views and welcoming hosts. Everything is provided in 2 very well equipped kitchens including a wide selection of teas & coffee pods for the Nespresso machine. All you have to do is provide your own food including milk. Kitchen facilities shared with 4 other rooms but it’s never overly busy. Not everyone cooks - there are 2 restaurants within east walking distance. We didn’t cook but used the washing machine - detergent & softener provided.

Unexpectable stay

The House is not far from Center and everything is in the walking distance. The View from house itself is unbelievable. You will fall in love with it upon your arrival. The Owner is friendly. He gave us all the useful information when we just arrived. The wife is also nice although she can't speak English but she use Google translate to give us information.

The water in Shower is a little bit small but maybe this is normal in this area. If you walk to the beautiful house then you have to climb a small Hill. I believe this is not a problem for most of people.

Exceptional!! Breathaking Views!! 5***** Hosts!! A must Visit!

I have nothing but praise to write about our stay in Un sogno sul lago Home, from the moment Fabio met us at the train station we knew we had picked the right place to stay. Fabio very kindly collected us, & then took us on a small tour of Stresa, pointing out places of interest & where to catch the Ferry boats. Once at Un Sogno sul lago home, we were blown away by the spectacular views overlooking Stresa, & the house itself, is stunning. The stylish decor is vibrant, cool & very bold, but equally, very calming & extremely tasteful. Our room was huge! with a gorgeous view out towards the mountains, a super comfy, large bed, & with lots of storage. The bathroom was excellent, with dual sink & a great double shower. The house has an elevated position, with breathtaking views across the lake & mountains beyond, & is approx. a 20 minute walk into the gorgeous town of Stresa, with the walk being very scenic, combining walking through the stunning residential areas, & along the beautiful promenade. Our hosts Fabio & Christina are excellent, the warmest, kindest hosts we have ever come across during our holidays, they are super helpful, fun & are very passionate about excellent service & hosting. I can not rate this home more highly, & I would certainly recommend to all who are considering a holiday in Stresa.

Cristina and Fabio were fantastic hosts, every little detail was thought of to make a perfect stay. Cristina was incredibly helpful and picked us up and dropped us to the train station, she took us on a little tour of Stresa and pointed out all of the must dos and even carried my suitcase up the hill! The home is very well equipped with tea, coffee and cooking facilities and finished to an excellent standard. The panoramic views of the lake are spectacular.

Wonderful stay, great hosts, would certainly recommend.

Nice location, albeit up a hill, however it did give us some fantastic views. Fabio the owner picked us up from the station and even took us to the supermarket! He also drove us around the town pointing out places of interest.

A homely, relaxing and friendly place in a great location and with beautiful views.

We loved the amazing view out of the window onto the lake. It was also super convenient and kind that Fabio came to collect us in person from Stresa train station. As animal lovers, the dogs and cat were a lovely bonus. We had a lovely two days at the property.

The amazing views and incredibly spacious and comfy room. The kitchen facilities were amazing and everyone was really friendly and helpful.

It was a little walk from the centre of Stresa but not enough to be a problem and there was no shower curtain on the shower. Besides that it was flawless!!

Fantastic AC! SO CLEAN! SO QUIET! SO FRIENDLY! And everything needed including 2 wonderful places to eat within 5 min walk. All the boats to all the islands 8 min walk away. This was a PERFECT 3 DAY STAY! We travel a lot and were really blown away. Frank and Genie Schaeffer Boston area USA

The property itself is beautiful, open and airy, great facilities, overlooking the lake. Could not fault it. The host and hostess (Fabio and his wife) are the nicest people we met in during our trip and probably the best hosts I’ve ever had. Both so polite and helpful. Fabio gave us a tour of the property and told us everything we need to know about Stresa and the surrounding areas; what to do, where to eat and what not to miss. Fabio was so king he insisted on carrying our very heavy luggage to our rooms, gave us lifts to town and his wife dried and folded our clothes for us. We are so very grateful to have met them. The sauna and steam room is a great touch too. Definitely recommend getting the red or green rooms with a private terrace and sunbed which overlooks the lakes and is just absolutely beautiful to sunbathe in. I could not fault this property or the host at all. 10/10 will definitely recommend and book again when we come back :) thank you so much!

The view is out of this world. Super close to the boats you have to take to visit the islands. And the host was always helpful, on site for any questions and had a long list of recommendations what to do and what to visit.

Everything went smoothly. The hosts were very welcoming and suggested many activities. It is located in a very calm neighborhood and the place has an amazing view and a lot of amenities. Many activities are within walking distance.

Could not have asked for a better start of a vacation after arriving from Milan airport with jetlag.

The location was amazing and the interior design remarkable. Everything you need upon arrival to prepare a cup of tea or espresso is there and the owners gave us a warm welcome. A table with maps and brochures about the region greets you and any question you may have about hiking or restaurants are readily answered.
