El Roble Nature Hotel & Lagoon

The location on the lagoon is lovely. Lots of free parking. The place is a bit tired looking and could use some TLC. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable. The room was clean. Our room had a kitchen with a fridge and microwave which proved a god send after spending the day roaming around. We'd bring food back to the room rather than going out again looking for a restaurant. There is a great restaurant approximately 800 meters on the highway towards Bacalar called El Taco Loco which closes at 6 pm. They do take out! We were able to book a lagoon tour and picked up/dropped off at the dock so no driving into town. The guide, Roberto, who spoke English, gave an excellent talk about the history, flora, fauna of the lagoon. The tour was one of our highlights on our trip.

The access road from the highway is very rough and bumpy so drive slowly. It's difficult to see the sign at night. If a hair dryer is important, bring your own. None are provided. Rather than using the chairs for luggage a couple of benches for luggage would be a nice addition.

The room wasn’t very nice , there were ants 🐜 inside and the kitchen is a communal one and not very clean.

The location is great, wonderful view and staff is super nice. The room is pretty comfortable.

The beach club needs maintenance, the sun shade needs to be mended, and new cushions for beach chairs. The hotel needs pest control, and a better way to supply healthy food to guests, as it is far from restaurants.

Atmosphere is magic and the silence of the nature incredibile! This place is really peaceful and having breakfast in front of the laguna is magic

The welcome has been quite cold. The area is far away from the town, during the evening seems quite lonely and dark
