Hotel Rural Huerto Viejo

Quiet, quirky hotel in a very rural pretty location. Good breakfast.

The bed was a bit hard

Quiet location with views of the mountains (covered, which was good in a drizzly January). Definitely rural and no restaurants nearby. Good breakfast. Friendly staff.

Much of it felt dated, the tv was very high up, fridge noisy (as you would expect, so just unplug). Prepare to drive to dinner or self cater (ie. Bread, cheese and ham). FYI, cats roam the property so be prepared for the noise they make, and birds were nesting under the room above our table (the netting had been pried open by them). The reception is in the first building (not the main one as you would expect). The main building/lounge wasn’t open when we stayed there, though we peeked inside and it looked cosy. Probably a very different stay during warmer months of the year. Also, being rural, a giant cockroach crawled across our bedroom floor. Safe wasn’t working (key operated and no one offered us a key).
