We stayed for 3 nights at Back Cottage over New Year and we absolutely loved it! The cottage is spread over 3 floors, a cosy living room with woodburner and a kitchen on the ground floor, nice sized double bedroom and bathroom on the first floor and a bigger double bedroom on the second floor, all beautifully clean. The cottage has everything we needed for our stay, the kitchen was very well equipped, bedrooms were comfortable and cosy, and the owners even left us a bottle of prosecco and a welcome card. It really is a lovely place to stay, a minutes walk from Main Street but on a quiet lane. We will definitely come back and would highly recommend it.
Nothing 🤷♀️

Warm and cosy, very well maintained and spotlessly clean. Clear instructions on kitchen wall for wifi, local information and leaving the cottage. Very pleasant hosts.
The beds are doubles, we would like a bit more room in a king size, which is what we are used too. But this is a minor personal criticism and would not put us off staying there again.

Cosy and had everything that we needed for a few nights away.
Unfortunately it doesn’t have car parking but if you’re stopping in Kirkby Lonsdale you’ll probably be an outdoor person that loves walking so it shouldn’t be an issue.

Location was great. Lovely view from the top bedroom window. Comfortable.
It seems a bit dated. Needed new quilts as they were flat. The bedding was a bit old fashioned. Felt it needed a freshen up. Smelt a bit damp.
It would have been a nice touch to get a welcome pack. Biscuits, kitchen roll, bottle of wine and / or milk.

Back Cottage was an ideal place to stay for us - a couple with two dogs. The facilities were great with lovely touches (fresh milk and ground coffee). The top floor bedroom was bright and sunny with amazing views. The small outside courtyard was a complete sun trap in the morning. Followed instructions to easy free parking. Everything for a great holiday was in easy walking distance. Will definitely be returning to Back Cottage.

Well equipped, lovely area, nice neutral decor, gorgeous view from top bedroom window.
Advertised as having free parking - in reality there isn't any parking at the cottage ( although you can drop off). There's paid parking a few minutes away or free parking further away.

Location was excellent you can't get closer. Great log fire very cosy downstairs and it was a great bonus for wintery days. Lovely walks with the dog nearby. Nice place for 2 couples, took our firestick which worked a treat. The dog settled quickly which is always a good sign bit of a gap under the gate in the back yard a piece of wood to cover it would be handy if your dog is small. Everything you need for cooking your meals at home if you don't want to eat out. Will definitely be going back.
Thin pillows, wished I brought my own but I'm picky. Could do with better directions for parking nearby, maybe a map or postcode to aim for however even in low season there's not a lot of parking around which, as we'd been before we expected. Couldn't get the bottom oven to work but adapted and used the microwave with no problem. The shower is not powerful but does the job. Outside the gate is a door I thought was an outhouse for the bin opened the door to see a lady in the kitchen in another cottage OMG very embarrassing.

Fabulous location and lovely walks from the door.
The town has lots to offer from history to good dining and unique shops. Incredible views from top bedroom.
Very helpful hosts.
It was unfortunate that the car had to be parked overnight some distance from the property.

Spacious and comfortable, a real home from home.
There seemed to be a damp smell on entering but with airing it lessened.

Excellent position in town centre, walking distance to pubs and shops. Cottage is well equipped warm and comfortable.
No Parking outside the property, only able to unload our things very quickly as very narrow road and other cars were waiting to get past. Long stay Car parks were full as it was a busy weekend. We had to park on a road a short walk away near the rugby club.
