Chequer Stable

Comfortable and beautiful location. Loved the views and the animals. The hosts were friendly and charming. Nothing is too much trouble. They had thought of everything in the design and furnishing .

This is a great place to stay. Everything that we needed was there and more besides. Although near a main road, the traffic noise was not intrusive and most of the time we didn't even notice it. The animals are great - llamas, geese, chickens, ducks. There was milk in the fridge when we arrived, plus some biscuits and a bottle of wine. Very much appreciated.

Nothing really, although stairs were a bit narrow for getting suitcases up them. People need to note that the bathroom is downstairs, so if you get up on the night, you need to use the stairs, but night lights were provided in 3 places, so there was no need to turn the light on. Older people may find this more of a challenge. I also found the bed a bit too soft for me, but my husband thought it was fine.

Beautiful property well equipped and very clean

Unfortunately we came back exhausted as the cockerel that was in the garden woke us in the middle of the night every night and continued to keep us awake right through the early hours of the morning. The road was also extremely busy and quite dangerous to get out of the drive way. It’s a shame as the property itself is lovely and very clean.

The extra touches included a log burner ready-to-light if we had wanted, milk, tea bags etc, a complimentary bottle of red and luxury chocolate biscuits, plentiful towels and ample parking.
