MIKA Apartments

The apartment is close to the main square (~10min) in a very well located but quiet area. It is compact but has everything we need for a short stay and it feels very homely and spacious. Bed is comfortable and water pressure is very good, which are two things I always prioritise :) The host is super attentive and friendly and was lovely to deal with. Would 100% book again if returning to Skopje

The owner was nice person, he’s friendly & wants to give a good impression of himself & service. He kept saying that he wants to maintain good reviews & that’s ok but as a guest I believe it’s very important to be honest even with negatives as they give room for improvement. Positives 1. It’s a nice studio 2. It was clean 3. Location is 10 minutes walk to the city centre which was great 4. It doesn’t exactly give an impression of being a safe neighborhood but it actually is. I was comfortable coming home at 9:30pm alone, with or without people around. 5. The rules are quite reasonable. Like no noise at a certain time, don’t use towels to clean make up, no parties etc. 6. I booked this place because it was written that it has aircondition and is sound proof but unfortunately, none worked for me. 7. The owner was kind enough to offer transportation to the airport at €30 which was great. However, i wasn’t exactly sure on my check out time so didn’t want to commit and I took a normal cab at €15 euros with no issues.

1. This place is really hard to find which was so frustrating. It’s wrongly directed on google maps & also the numbering on the street is just confusing and not in numerical order. It’s really mixed up and later after check in when reading the previous reviews, many people have complained about it. Not blaming the owner but this is the reality of this location. 2. A kind suggestion is to look into alternate checking in solutions like a self check in method as this really helps especially a place so hard to find. I was lost trying to find this place for 20 minutes with google maps directing me left, right and centre. The owner sent a screenshot map which I tried to ask around and no one understood English till my data ran out. He also shared his location via WhatsApp after I told him I was lost but then in the middle of all this stress & in the hot sun running around with heavy luggage, he texted that he had many commitments and wanted to leave the apartment. He left and returned 15 mins later and I was already on time but that kind if stress was just too much. Running up & down with heavy luggage stressed that an owner was leaving. I understand he has priorities and that’s fine but also a place that’s this hard to find & with many commenting on the same definitely needs a self checkin method or whatever method. 3. The apartment is right in the city centre and by the roadside and worse is it’s at the traffic light stop where all cars come from different directions (four of them). An intersection basically so all the car noises, loud hooting and motorcycles kept me awake all night. Especially the many big touristic buses. I was in bed by 10pm but couldn’t sleep. I finally got some sleep around 2am and then woke up at 4:30am from the cars again. This apartment isn’t sound proofed and if disputed I’m happy to send videos to make my point.
