    The location is perfect, the aromatic smell as you walk in is delightful, the staff is very welcoming and warm, the added touches of free water and fabric spray are so nice, the beds are super comfortable, the choice of a soft or firm pillow or both in the bed is so thoughtful, the add on breakfast is delicious, the laundry room is a great amenity, and again location, location, location!!! We LOVE this hotel!! Thank you, Thank you!!!!

    A lovely hotel. Rooms are not big but really well designed and more than fit for purpose. The bed is comfy and the location is perfect for everything you could n d and yet there is no disturbance from the street at night. They put on cultural events downstairs such as mystic. And calligraphy to celebrate Japanese culture. Excellent. The staff were really helpful too. One of my group lost his phone and the staff helped liaise with the taxi company to get it back. I would 100% stay here again. This is a genuine review . I stayed for 3 days - I booked an extra night it was so good. Great value.

    Talking to staff is like talking to a doll. After long while they will ask you to repeat your question and then, after another while, they will turn to a colleague for advice. Most frustrating. Furthermore, the assistance offered is nonexistent beyond calling for a taxi. I had to make a local phone call and since my European mobile did not work, I asked the front desk to help me. They directed me to outside phones which of course are nowhere to be found nowadays. I solved the problem by going to next door Hotel Cross, where they lent me a phone, although I was not a guest. But I will be next time in Kyoto, which happens every 6 months. No more Resol for me after several years of loyalty.
