Superb budget value

Staff were very friendly, the rooms was of a good size and well equipped for a budget hotel, only a 5-10 min walk to the main area which has plenty of restaurants and bars, located in a quiet street just away from the main area, has a outdoor pool

room lighting is a little dim (for my liking) and about 750m too far in location from being perfect but if you are a budget conscious traveller who doesnt mind walking, it is exceptional

Highly Recommended Stay in Khao Lak

I stayed at Light Khao Lak Resort for 10 days and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the staff is excellent always welcoming, smiling, and ready to help with anything. The beds are very comfortable, and the sheets were the softest I’ve slept on in Thailand. The hot water in the shower was perfect and made every evening feel relaxing. The location is fantastic: just a short walk from a beautiful beach, close to great restaurants, and within easy reach of the night market. Highly recommended!

Lucky last minute stay in a very nice hotel

The hotel is quiet new and the rooms are verry nice. We had a family room with 2 separate rooms, which was very nice for our family of 4. All rooms are close to the swimming pool which was good for us, but might be noisy if a lot of children are in it. The swimming pool is not very big, but nice. It might get crowded during the high season. There is a nice terrasse to relax, or put things to dry.

The shower is not completely closed of and does not have a curtain, so there is quiet a bit of water everywhere after. There is no restaurant in or near the hotel, and you have to walk for about 10min before finding anything. For the beach it is the same.

The bed was comfortable and the room was clean.

The ac didn’t work at all I usually put it on 20 to sleep and I had this thing on 18 turbo mode and I was still boiling so safe to say that didn’t work at all. And the wifi was pretty much non existent had to use data the whole time. Very annoying

Great stay at Light Khak Lak

Very clean, great location, staff were amazing. Free small breakfast with tea and coffee. Rental scooters all very good and new. Clean pool. Everything close by yet it was peaceful. We stayed for 3 weeks.

Could have done with a few more (2-4) sunbeds. Pool too small for potential demand, particularly if families are there

Lovely small villas located around a central pool. Love the additional unofficial croissants, toast coffee and jam put out each morning for guests to enjoy. Quite location out of the main town but still only a 5 min walk to the beach and a 10 min walk into town.

Nice and simple accomodation, quiet area, everything really neat and tidy and well maintained. Really appreciate how friendly and helpful the staff are at reception! They have push bikes for hire too so you can get around town and enjoy a ride.

Everything!! Loved the pool, the rooms, the staff, the location was close to everything but far away enough that it was quiet at night! The staff also sorted us out a taxi to Phuket for a good price which was really helpful.

Great stay in Khao-Lak

The hotel is modern and really good. The owner takes great care of the hotel and tries to improve it. The rooms have everything you need for your stay. The beds are comfortable. The aircon is quiet. The room service is great. I received 3 bottles of still water every day, fresh towels, etc. The ladies work very hard to keep the hotel clean. The pool was great. Light self-service breakfast is provided. You can make your tea/coffee or warm up ready made meals in the microwave . The hotel staff are very friendly and polite and speak good English. They kindly borrowed me an iron to iron my clothes. Everything was great. The location was close for the beach in the morning. Please note that when you come to the beach, there are stairs down to the beach itself. Both sides of the shore are covered with massive stones/rocks which you need to pass by in the shallow water with sand for about 30 - 50 meters. In the afternoon, because of the tide, the water arrives and you can no longer return the same way as the water now covers these massive rocks and it can be dangerous due to strong waves. There's another way to walk back but that will take you at least 20 min to get to the hotel. On some mornings you cannot get to the beach because of the tide also so need to take a long walk.

The room I stayed was on the 1st floor, above the kitchen/breakfast area. Every day from about 6.40am - 7am I would be woken up by people dragging heavy chairs on the tiled floor in the breakfast area. These chairs need some felt or fabric to be glued to the legs or covered with something. The room was quite noisy also because people congregate there thoughout the day and sometimes late at night. You can hear everything in the room. Also, I wish the lady in the reception provided more accurate information about the breakfast. I was only told that 'breakfast is not provided. It's only toast, tea and coffee'. As I do not eat bread, do not drink tea or coffee, I did not even go there. However, at some point I noticed some mini croissants and towards the end of my stay I noticed some fruit (watermelon and pineapple). I do not know whether the fruits were provided every day or only for Christmas. It would be great if the hotel communicated that properly. If I knew there were fruits every day, I would definitely had some earlier and not only on the last 2 days. Anyway, the hotel is great. These are only small things and hopefully will be taken on board.

Didn’t recommend

We came late in the evening (21:30) and the receptionist had sent me a picture of their service hours which ended at 21:00, though the info says check in is up to 00:00. So they met us as if we should have come earlier. In the room there was no water, the toilet was broken so water didn’t full the tank, the shower was leaking when taking a shower. The stay was really disappointing. I would not recommend it. I don’t know what it has rather high reviews.

We stayed two nights only, to visit Similan Islands and the staff was great - they helped us and arranged everything needed for this one day trip and helped us with other organisation as well. Resort is nice and clean, the pool is good but haven’t spent a lot of time here as we were in short with time.

Very lovely stay, quiet and very clean room, will stay again!

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Light Khao. It's a short walk from the main Street and a small grocery store and self serviced laundry just down the road. We had the family room which was perfect for our family of 5 and the kids loved playing in the pool after a day of exploring the activities. The staff was also very friendly and helpful - the lovely girl at the recruiting during the day (sorry we never knew your name) even helped us booked a couple of day trips to Surin & Similan islands and airport transfer. Would definitely stay here again!

If we are picky, perhaps just a block too far from the main Street for our kids with their little legs! But it didn't bother us at all.
