Sea Star at Bella Beach - Meredith Lodging
As you head down the flight of stairs from the street level to the entry of this oceanfront condo in the Bella Beach community, you look out to a gorgeous sea view. You may just skip the front door and walk right out to the deck and patio for the spectacular, panoramic view of the Pacific. Perched on a bluff over sandy Bella Beach, Sea Star puts you in the front row for spotting whales and watching the waves.
As one of Sea Star’s guests wrote, at Sea Star the beach comes to you! Sit back under the stars on the four Adirondack chairs , soak in the steaming ocean-view hot tub, or grill freshly locally caught seafood and eat dinner while enjoying the sunset from the picnic table on the deck. Inside, you’ll relax in updated, comfortable spaces. The great room has nearly floor-to-ceiling windows, where you can see miles of ocean and listen to the roar of surf. Relax on the cozy sectional or two leather recliners, which are situated around a gas fireplace and a smart TV (where you can stream content from your own online subscription services on the high-speed internet). For rainy day fun, plenty of books, games, and puzzles can be found in the living room bookcase. Seat six around the ocean-view dining table and serve meals from the fully equipped granite-topped kitchen, with a gas stove and convenient island. It’s easy to invite friends when you each have your own private king or queen primary suite, each with a private bathroom. Since you’re in Bella Beach, you’ll enjoy street parking (including one reserved parking space designated for Sea Star), neighborhood walks or bike rides, a grassy park, children’s playground, French Cafe, and of course access to miles of flat, sandy beach. Beach access is from the street level, past just one other house. Bella Beach is situated conveniently between the communities of Lincoln City and Depoe Bay, with a grocery/market less than a half-mile away.

Very comfortable, clean and a great view. My favorite is watching the sunset in the hot tub. Easy access to beach. I would stay here again.

We love Bella Beach, and visit regularly with friends and our young adult kids (sharing one rental); this time it was just us and Sea Star suited perfectly! (next time we’ll bring our dog along ) The patio, especially, made our stay special with its comfy Adirondacks and the hot tub - so close to the surf, but cozy and private thanks to the broad rose hedge/blackberries and the strategically placed section of fence. We read, played cards, walked the beach, enjoyed morning coffee and sunset cocktails on the patio, watched an old movie … the very definition of respite!

Bella Beach is a long time family favorite and our recent visit was the 16th time we have rented a home in the community.
The house was decent although showing signs of wear and tear. Screens were missing from the windows, the slider was rusted and hard to open, the slider screen door was damaged and the outdoor BBQ gas tank was empty when we went to grill. The location, right on the beach, the sunsets and unobstructed ocean view made up for the lack of attention to repairs and amenities in the property.
Unfortunately it was not the relaxing stay we were hopping for because, when a family arrived occupying the property directly above us on the second night of our stay, the parents sent their 3 young boys (all under 10 years old) to use the hot-tub designated for our property only. The boys were not accompanied by their parents but stated that their parents said they could use out hot tub. When we politely asked them to leave they proceeded to use the hot-tub of the guests adjacent to us without their permission and were asked to leave when it was discovered they were their. This clearly enraged the parents as the mother marched down to our property and aggressively confronted us while her husband shouted at us from the balcony above. We calmly informed them that they were not able to use our hot tub (not only was it designated for our use only, there was also Covid to consider) and when we refused to engage further the mother returned to the property (above us) and stood on the balcony with her husband and kids and spat on us while we ate, threw sand in our food as we sat outside, smoked marijuana, played loud obnoxious music etc. All of this continued from 6 pm until around 10pm when they set of their fire alarm 4 times and stood on the deck laughing and shouting at us. Then at 11:30pm an argument broke out between the husband and wife which carried on until we contacted the property management around midnight. Unfortunately the 2 remaining days of our stay were ruined by the continued harassment by these guests in the property above us including more spitting, sand throwing, stomping on their floor (our ceiling) and other obnoxious carrying on.
We will definitely stay at Bella Beach again however we will never stay in a property with guests above or below us given this experience. We will always choose a standalone home in the future.
The Property Managers did what they could however these people should have been asked to leave.
