Clean, comfortable and good value.
Friendly and helpful staff.
We didn't eat at the pub as we were going to a wedding but the food looked good.

This place is a real gem and definitely surprised us - in a good way! It is nestled on a Yorkshire hillside with beautiful views across the valley. We arrived about 4pm on Good Friday and the whole place was buzzing. The bar and restaurant were full but, despite being very busy, the staff immediately made time for us and made us feel very welcome. The room was lovely - exactly as you see on the photos. We had a walk around the immediate vicinity on the morning after our night’s stay and it really is gorgeous, with streams and stone buildings and stunning views. It also became clear that there is more to The Alma than we realised with a big outside bar and seating area. Dogs are welcome too. We would definitely stay there again. Oh, and when you see the other reviews saying that the breakfast is superb….you can believe them. It was! Overall it was a great night away and the staff were fabulous. Give The Alma a try - you won’t be disappointed!
Our only minor comment is that we felt the pillows and bed were a little hard but this is totally our own preference and definitely not a complaint.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was okay and the bathroom was good. The location was good.
Room 5 was very small and was overcrowded with furniture. It was above the bar and very noisy.
