Blackstone Tavern at The Moorcock Inn

Beautiful location, very friendly and helpful staff, cosy rooms, and the building is solid and sound dampened enough to keep the howling gales and torrential rain so that you could barely hear it. Mind you, it would need to be given the location. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and had breakfast the next morning, both of which were excellent and I didn't finish either because the portions were very generous. All 3 of us had starters that we really enjoyed and the beef rag pudding, which was a first for all of us was exceptional. Breakfast was also delicious and set us up for our 4 hour drive home. You can tell they don't skimp on ingredient quality. Well-stocked bar with interesting beers and ciders on tap and a good house red (merlot). We had a drink in the bar after dinner and the vibe was very relaxed. It seems to be a very popular place with all demographics. Groups of all ages, families, couples, older people and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Would definitely come again!

Was initially cold in the room, but I cranked up the heating and it kicked in fairly quickly. Was a pretty sudden cold snap though, Usual British weather turn! Also, a minor thing, but sockets for charging near bed would be handy as there was only one accessible socket by the desk. But neither issue would get close to putting me off coming again.
