Pearl in Ohrid Macedonia

This was my 2nd stay at this hostel and I enjoyed myself once again. The staff (Dror and Jamie) were great and the owner was very helpful. The location, private room, kitchen and common areas were excellent

Best place ever

Literally the best hostel I ever stayed in. I was welcomed in the most friendly way ever, they treated me like I am one of their close friends or their family member. Room was clean and spacious, bed mattress was super comfortable, heater was working well in the winter (the owner always come checks if I am okay), free coffee from the machine which tasted amazing. The owner is one of the kindest person I ever met - he remembers my name, tells me about which restaurant is the best or which supermarket is the cheapest, even the day I leave, he was worry I am gonna miss the bus and offered to drive me to the bus stop and talk with the bus driver for me. Insanely impressive experience and the people in the hostel I met were lovely - I feel like home and nobody is gonna hurt/rob me at anyway at all. I love this place and would come back to Ohrid just for this!

Excellent hostel

Ease of check in, receptionist and owner were very approachable and friendly plus helpful too. Towel provided is a nice touch. Comfortable beds, decent kitchen, coffee from the coffee machine, good WiFi, good shower and toilet, nice balcony to chill, locker to store your luggage, location to the city centre and bus station, interesting guests.

Useful kitchen for travellers. Perfect location not far away from the centre and friendly staff. Backpackers can find the little terrace useful for meeting other fellow travellers.

Safe, friendly and excellent location

I arrived at 1am and was bit scared as this is my first time in north Macedonia as solo female traveller. The owner picked me me up for the airport and stayed in constant communication which made me feel very comfortable. I felt very safe. The owner is extremely friendly and kind. Very central with excellent location. Highly reckoned it 😊

Everything was very nice. The location is perfect, close to the city center, old town and beach. A supermarket and a bakery are right across the street. They offer laundry for 5 euros. You also get towels included. The staff was very helpful.

Definitely stay here if you want to make friends!

Amazing hostel!!!! Everyone is so friendly and it’s a great place to meet people! I only stayed for two nights but I met people that I will continue traveling with in different countries too! The location is excellent and super close to everything, and the host is very helpful and kind. I wish I could have stayed longer, and I’m definitely coming back next time I’m in Ohrid.

Sometimes the shower is only a small stream of water, and the bunks don’t have privacy curtains, but that’s not a big issue.

Perfect hostel!

Literally the perfect hostel. Had an amazing 3 days here, met the best people and Djoko (probably spelt that wrong) is the best owner, even drove us to the station when we left. The rooms are light, tidy and clean and the kitchen is well equipped, but if I’m being honest, the place is about the people and there is nowhere better in Ohrid, or maybe the world. Cannot recommend more strongly.

I really liked the hostel!! The hostel owner is really nice and answers you every question possible :) the beds were comfortable and there’s a little kitchen for cooking. It’s really close to the pier in Ohrid and has a supermarket right across the street.

The owner Gyoko is born to be a hostel owner. I've never met someone friendlier or more helpful than him. He made my stay be the best it could be! The hostel in general is also really nice. Good facilities, location, wifi to work. Everything went fine!

The absolute best!

The whole visit was exceptional and far exceeded our expectations. Djoko picked us up from the bus station and upon departure arranged for the bus to Tirana to pick us up in town so it was only a short walk. Our twin room was massive. The staff (some volunteers) were responsive to our requests and provided really useful information. Lake Ohrid is a magical place and this was the perfect accommodation to explore it from.

I got bitten by a spider the first night and the staff hunted it down the next day and removed it from the room.

It was perfect!

Sorry for taking some time to review my accommodation experience. I really liked it here. The location is excellent; it's just a 5-minute walk to the center and only a 10-minute walk to the old town. Upon check-in, the owner provides a very detailed introduction to Ohrid. The rooms and all the common areas are clean and tidy. If you enjoy socializing, you're welcome to join everyone; if you prefer peace and quiet, this place is also very suitable. Trust me, you will love it here! 🌟🏰

This is a great hostel to stay at in Ohrid and just a short walk to the lake and the old town. The host,Gyoko, is great and really helpful with everything you need. The hostel is cozy and ideal for meeting other travellers. I would definitely stay here again.

Best Budget Friendly Hostel In Ohrid

The host was super friendly, welcoming, and just amazing overall. He was really active and quick to respond to any questions we had. He gave us lots of helpful info about tourist attractions and fun activities to try around Ohrid. We also loved that there was free coffee. The location was perfect, really close to the old town and plenty of restaurants around. The room was spacious and bright. There was also a common dining area and a fridge. Another great thing—the host let us keep our bags after check-out, which made things so much easier. If I visit Ohrid again, I’ll definitely stay here. Highly recommended!
