Disappointing

Had everything we needed for a weekend visit. Location was good. Beautiful old building.

- The place was quite worn down and showed many signs of wear and small damages. Definitely not as nice as the pictures make it seem and in urgent need of renovation - Bathroom was smelly - Room was cold and the heating didn't work properly - There was some kind of ventilation running the whole time which was really loud (not the regular bathroom fan, that one could be switched off) - The bed was saggy and uncomfortable - There was free tea but the included milk packets were long expired

My bed was not made when I first got there. I called and was told housekeeping had gone and would be called back. I wasn't called back so had to make my own bed. Ridiculous. The table in the room also had uncleaned sauce stains. The wifi barely worked. The towel to put on the floor whilst showering was also stained.

Very good quality apartment in a nice area and beter value than some apartments in or near the city

very quiet, clean and comfortable with a homely feel and character, unlike so many apartments. Probably because it used to be a (Victorian) home. Pleasantly situated within walking distance of the city centre, although a bus service is nearby. Heating and TV easy to operate, again unlike so many apartments. Appliances mostly worked very well.

Thicker (blackout) curtains needed to keep out the early morning light. Hot water from the kitchen tap is a poor flow. Be careful with the shower control-water temperature fluctuates greatly with only a miniscule change to knob. Kitchen just needed a washing up sponge or brush.

Very good

We have stayed before, a grand building which is very well placed for central Leeds. The rooms are large, the Scott is smaller than the Heaton where we stayed before but still very spacious. Kitchen area well equipped and all works.

We searched on Booking.com for properties with parking and did not realise until the pre-arrival email that Scott (and Smeeton) did not have dedicated spaces. This was not a problem over a weekend when parking restrictions on street are lifted but would have been during the working week. Things are looking a bit tired and some maintenance is required. The grand entrance hall now has stuff stacked behind the piano and managers desk which doesn't give a good impression. In the room the sofas have rips in the covers, the curtains have fallen off many of their hooks so do not close (and are 10 feet up in the air so you cant do anything yourself), there is peeling paint on the windowsills and the hook on the back of the bathroom door has been pulled off and not replaced or the defect repaired fully. Nothing major but enough to notice.

Beautiful architecture in the building.lovely staff so helpful and kind. Near centre of city easy to walk to . Enjoyed city centre Victoria arcade and harvey nicks. Easy to get a bus to Otley and the dales

location. great space, privacy. facilities. quiet

smell from bathroom. the immediate local area is low lying on a hill which seems to affect the damp, especially in the Scott flat bathroom. kept door shut. needs a little more utensils and sharper knife. all easily sorted. used taxi company from the card in my room folder (amber cabs). though not connected with apartments, were easily the worst taxi company Ive come across in my memory!! one no show, second over 15 mins minutes late. then took me to wrong venue, despite booking with postcode, then didn’t take card payment after i forced him to check postcode to find right address. had to get cashback from coop to pay him despite their phone line not mentioning cash payment only. instead of being early as planned for important meeting, i was half hour late!

For a small apartment the decor was really lovely. Everything was beautiful and well equipped.

There was a terrible smell in the whole apartment from the time we opened the door. The bathroom really smelled disgusting. I think the ventilators and extractions don’t work. you could not really sit anywhere comfortably and watch TV.

Superb

The apartment was very cozy and comfortable! The kitchen was really well equipped and had everything I could have needed and more. It was in a quiet area but still in short walking distance to the city center as well as university area.

The only thing that bothered me a little bit was that the appliances were quite loud during the night. If you are a very sensitive sleeper then it might not be the right apartment for you. But this is probably not avoidable in a studio. Also the 'garden' was rather just a small lawn in front of the house. Made for a nice view from the window though.

Great stay, great location and fabulous staff.

Staff were fabulous and made the absolute difference. Sensitive to our needs and went the extra mile in terms of parking for instance.

Minor points : the shower screen leaked and it would have been useful to have more dishcloths

Really enjoyed our stay, we will be back!

Clean, well equipped, ideal location for us. The room was well set out, had everything that we needed.

We couldn’t get the television to work and there was a fault with the main lights.

Great apartment block but wouldn't recommend this room

The apartment block and room were lovely to look at.

It wasn't clear this room didn't come with parking and the room itself smells pretty bad. I think it's the leather sofa, but the Thoresby didn't smell, whereas The Scott was darker and dingier.

It was good property.

I found having to strip the bedding and packing it in a particular way, empty all the bins and running the dishwasher a bit much and unexpected. The tone of the request was dictatorial and included a statement that there would be an additional charge if this wasn’t done. I don’t stripping bedding at home so why would I do it when I am paying to stay away.

Decor rather over modernised for the age and character of the property. Washing up liquid and dishcloth needed - not enough crockery to use dishwasher! Recycling policy unclear.

Really comfy room and liked having a kitchen. It was compact but didn't feel it. Also lots of storage place if you to stay for a longer period of time. Really clean as well. Liked that toiletries were proved.

The sofa was a little worn and the leather split but don't let that detract from how lovely this studio is.

Superb

The historical building is gorgeous and the facilities were excellent. The apartment itself was very stylish and comfortable and was lovely to "come home" to, and the location so close to the city means you can walk everywhere and discover places on the way.

There was a technical issue with some key cards on my second day. Since I didn't have the correct number for the housekeeping service on hand (it was inside) that caused a bit of stress, but luckily the situation was fully resolved.

Great value for money

Beautiful apartment. Would 100% stay again. I booked a two night stay for my boyfriends birthday and we loved it. Nice open plan, stylish space to stay. Had to everything we needed and more. We only met a few staff members briefly but they were lovely and offered us a later check out time. Great location. 5 minute Uber to the centre and probably only a 15 minute walk x

Nothing, it was great. *a note for the property though (not a negative comment, I just wanted to make them aware) the iron was broken upon arrival. However it wasn’t an issue as we brought our own travel iron as we weren’t sure if they would provide one :) *

The Claremont Apartments - the perfect location for a visit to Leeds!

The location of the apartment is superb. In fact we have stayed before which is why we chose it this time. We had a couple of problems working out the electrics but the house keeper was really friendly and helpful and we got everything working. Super comfy bed, a great shower and thick towels - brilliant!

The bedside lamp wasn't working (although we swapped it with the desk lamp so it wasn't really a problem). There was quite a strong mildew smell coming from the bathroom. The fan did help but didn't mask it completely.
