We had a wonderful stay at Berg Cottage in Clarens. The location is fantastic – peaceful, surrounded by beautiful mountain views, and just a short walk from the town square. What we loved most was the history the house holds. It's a true historical sandstone cottage with so much character and charm, making it feel like stepping back in time. If you're visiting in winter, be prepared – it gets freezing! But that's all part of the experience of staying in a genuine historic home. If you're looking for modern luxury, this may not be for you. But if you appreciate heritage, atmosphere, and a unique place to stay, Berg Cottage is absolutely worth it. We'd happily stay there again.
The only downside for us was the pillows, which weren't very comfortable, so I'd recommend bringing your own if you're a bit fussy about pillows.
