Really pleasant stay in a picturesque part of the island. Would definitely stay again

Immaculate. The level of cleanliness was exceptional across the whole facility. The pods are positioned with thought to each others privacy

No running water and quite a walk with luggage from the harbour. However, this does mean you’re closer to a wonderful beach.

Best pods in a beautiful Island location.

The pods had been upgraded since last time I visited in 2023. Loved the stylish makeover and additional touches. The shower block, as always, was super clean and, again, extra little touches like the bathmats were helpful. Having hair dryers and extra towels available was a bonus as we forgot our towels!

Beautiful location

Beautiful views and comfortable beds, very clean and everything you need for a good stay provided. Staff was very nice, picked me up from ferry and drove me to shops one day. The history of the Iona church was the reason for the visit, a healing prayer service on Tuesday evenings at 9 was the best service I’ve ever experienced. The island is very peaceful, and I had the best supper of cod at Argyll Hotel. Hopefully I will be able to visit again in summer months. I also had a spa experience with Sandra which was also very good.

Shuttle service to and from the ferry would be a good upgrade as it was quite a distance away and trying to reach taxi was unsuccessful.

Nothing, it was great. Just a suggestion for the future - as there is very limited storage space in the pods it would be great to have a drying room or storage space for wet outdoor gear, as is provided in many hostels.

The in-floor heating was effective and kept the pods very cozy for our October stay! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The amenities were everything that we needed and we're always clean and in good working order.

Wonderful stay in a very special place

It was a wonderful place to stay, exceeding my expectations. The whole site was extremely well maintained, as was my pod. I was in St Ronan’s, which was ensuite and had an amazing view. Everything I needed was provided. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would definitely book again. Due to Storm Amy, I missed one night as the whole of Iona was without power, but Will ensured I was kept up to date with exactly what was happening. I would highly recommend Iona Pods as somewhere very special to stay.

Wonderful stay

A wonderful stay on the enchanting island of Iona, where I would return tomorrow if I could. I’d love to come back for a longer stay, as the peaceful setting truly deserves it.

It’s a campsite, so obviously you have to watch out for insects.

Iona Pods.

Absolutely loved our stay in these beautiful immaculate pods . The amenities block is one of the best I have seen . No need to take washing up stuff and dish towels as these are supplied ,there's even a hairdryer you can borrow as well as a wee cupboard full of condiments that you can use . Tea,coffee, sugar,milk ,salt and pepper all supplied in your pod . I was really impressed with the layout of everything here on this lovely site .staff were lovely too . Scenery is amazing and a short walk from the ferry and all shops .

Only thing missing for me is no toaster or a cheese grater. It's not dog friendly which is a pity as I'd have loved my two wee dogs to have been able to have been with me as its a beautiful place but it's completely understandable that no dogs are allowed due to being on a working croft .

Incredible, tranquil, well equipped place

Best equipped pods. Had everything we needed for a great couple of nights. Ideal location for exploring Iona. Well laid out. Clean showers and toilets. Washing up area was indoors and once again had all we needed. Will, a member of staff, was very helpful. Pod site itself was so peaceful.

Be prepared for midgies!!! Could have done with a squeegee to clear the rain water off the picnic bench for breakfast.

Dreamy and peaceful.

Stunning location. Very friendly staff. Spotless facilities. The pods are very well equipped, you've everything you need without it being cluttered with stuff, so you feel like you've enough space to move.

The showers in the women's bathroom were overflowing quite a bit. Not sure what the issue is there though. I would have also appreciated one towel per person to be included in the pods, like bedding is, but there are still some available to rent with an honest system.

Great location and the common use facilities were spotless and well-kept and had all the amenities you might need.

There were 3 of us in a pod that was really for 2 people so it was quite crowded. However with limited options on the island, we were glad to have the option.

The location was brilliant and the pod had been so carefully thought out to give everything needed in a small space. Excellent shower too! And very entertaining sheep!

Amazing, comfortable pods with a lovely view

Fantastic views and very well equipped pods. We had two pods, one of which is an en suite pod. There is a good sized shower and all kitchen equipment provided. We could cook a meal easily and sit outside to eat when it was dry. Very close to a gorgeous beach and walking distance to the abbey. Very clean toilets and shower block and great to have a hairdryer available to borrow. Laundry area kept clean and a washing up area for dishes.

Nothing! Perfect spot. This is our second visit and we'll be back! Small suggestion would be some hooks outside the door for hanging wet jackets!

A time of peaceful contentment

Location was superb - on the edge of the community so peaceful but a short walk into the Abbey/shops etc and also a short walk to wonderful beaches. The shower room in my pod was luxurious and the shower powerful. The cooking facilities were also good - everything worked well and I was very happy.

I felt I needed weight training to lift the duvet!! It was far too heavy and hot for me and only a small wool blanket as an alternative but I was able to ask Will for an extra blanket after the first night and was able to store the duvet under the bed and just use the cover!

The day and a half we spent there was very pleasant

We liked the setting, and the facility is well managed. Will and the other staff members were highly efficient and helpful.

It is also heavily overpriced from the perspective of us as South Africans. We expected the facility to be closer to the beach. The two extra beds took up valuable space inside. We also missed the first night because we did not notice that the last ferry from Fionnport is at 18:00. We had to sleep in the car because there was no accommodation available in Fionnport. Although we take responsibility for the mishap, it would have been valuable if the check-in time on the facility web page is linked to that constraint.

A relaxing stay on the beautiful island of Iona

The pods nestle below Dun I (the highest point on Iona) and are located not far from the abbey on the beautiful north east coast of Iona with its spectacular views across the Sound of Iona to the west coast of Mull. The pods are extremely comfortable. They have actual double beds rather than the mats that I've slept on in pods on other islands plus a large sofa, a small dining table and chairs, boiling rings, a microwave and a small fridge. The washing facilities are also excellent. The owner and staff are very friendly and always happy to assist. Iona is a very special place and I will definitely return to spend another week in a pod.
