Carpe Diem

Charming, quirky apartment in a medieval village. Easy to reach from the main entrance to the old village. The host was extremely welcoming and friendly; he helped carry our luggage up the skinny, steep stairs, and he advised us on secure parking options. The decor is lovely--capturing the old-world charm of the architecture (huge beams, exposed fireplace, etc.). There is a window that looks out to the winding alleys in the village. We were given coffee, tea, and water upon arrival. This village is simply stunning, and a must-see. The weekly market was rained out when we were there, but I've attended on a previous trip, and it was wonderful. The apartment is literally 3 minutes walk to the market and restaurants/shop in the main square.

The stairs are steep and narrow, as you would expect in an ancient building. The "railing" is a quaint--but not super helpful--thick rope. Thankfully, the staircase is narrow enough you can use the walls on each side to guide your steps down. The second bedroom does not have a door or a window to the outside; it is open to the main area and directly adjacent to the small bathroom, so there is minimal privacy. The bathroom is very compact, and the small shower area would benefit from a curtain or door to keep the water in. The hose and sprayer were handheld, plastic, and a bit flimsy- more like what you would find in an RV. The inside of the refrigerator had some leftover debris that should have been removed during the cleaning.

We had the most perfect stay at Carpe Diem. The apartment was absolutely beautiful — spacious, comfortable and had everything we could possibly need. Our host was genuinely one of the kindest, most generous and helpful people we have ever met. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and he went above and beyond throughout our stay to make sure we had everything we needed and felt completely at home. We were truly blown away by his kindness and hospitality. We couldn’t recommend Carpe Diem highly enough. It’s a beautiful, charming place made even more special by such a wonderful and attentive host. Thank you so much for making our stay so memorable! ❤️

The host was superb. We arrived early and he was still cleaning yet he let us in and was very happy and helpful. He even got us some milk from his own home to help, and this was the first property to give us milk in France. The bed was hard but I had the best sleep of my trip here so I loved it. Nice and quiet location as no cars are allowed into the area. I think the most positive thing was the host. Very helpful.

The stairs up to the apartment were very tricky for my mother who was 78. She struggled, so stayed in the apartment once got there. Not a problem for myself, 52.

Tourettes is a fantastic place and Carpe Diem is at its very heart. Everything is within walking distance and the view from the balcony is really a trip into another time.

The kitchen could have been a bit better equipped.
