Casa Irene is in the perfect location to enjoy the old town of Chania, with a delightful balcony overlooking the square in front of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral. A generous welcome gift meant we didn’t need to venture out for provisions immediately, and could enjoy a morning coffee watching the town come to life. The sitting area was very comfortable and the kitchen well equipped for the limited cooking we did. Our host was very attentive and responsive and gave us some great recommendations and suggestions. We did need to use our earplugs a couple of nights when we retired early, but the modern windows were surprisingly effective at cutting down the noise of the chatter below. We made good use of the washing machine and drying rack for our week-long stay, and really appreciated having the sheets changed and room freshened mid-week. We found that we could really relax and settle in, and so enjoyed our time here. It was the highlight of our trip to Greece!

Casa Irene was a great choice for Chania. With two bathrooms, three air conditioners, and a kitchen (with a microwave, the first I’ve seen in Greece!), it would have been an ideal base for a longer trip. We only stayed a night but will be back. And a special shout-out to Stavros, who made the whole experience seemless and even arranged to get me back my kindle that I left behind.

The host Stavros was amazing, gave me and my husband good tips how to get around crete island, explained about where to go and catch buses etc. Taught us both how to make Greek food which was fantastic. The apartment (Stavros childhood home) is amazing. The view was exceptional, full view of the square and amazing just to sit on the balcony with a lovely glass of wine and people watch. We were very lucky on our last night to watch a Cretan dance festival and having a balcony view, (people looking up at us with envy) 😆 this made our holiday complete and gone back to the UK a very happy couple. I would definitely recommend Stavros apartment, we travel light, so this was fantastic that there is a washing machine also (very important for us both). Thankyou Stavros for your hospitality and we will definitely be back.

There was nothing that we didnt like, everything we needed was there, aircon, comfortable bed, washing machine, just a very happy couple 😊

The property was absolutely beautiful. It was central in Chania and in my opinion the best location to be. The property was perfection, and it has every thing you could ever need and is immaculately clean. The quality of the bed linen and pillows etc are superb and extremely comfortable. All the facilities the crockery, plates,washing machine,everything is a very high standard and beautifully presented. The 2 bathrooms are very modern with lots of space and the shower is lovely and powerful. The balcony view is magical and I spent many many hours sat there drinking, eating, writing and people watching, and it’s even more beautiful to sit there first thing on a morning early before the town wakes up. The entire property , facilities and host are outstanding I cannot praise Stavros enough. And finally our host Stavros…… WOW what a wonderful, kind man he is. Stavros goes above and beyond to make your stay so special, his kindness and generosity , his stories about his life they are beautiful. Thank you Stavros so much we will be back to see you again x
