Vener Luxury Suites

We absolutely loved our stay in the Vener Luxury Suites. The location is absolutely amazing. Right on the streets of the old town. Our room overlooked the church square and so we enjoyed sitting out on our balcony of an evening and watching the world go by. Even better when you get a Gyros and sit up there to eat it (we found the best ones were from the kebab shop on the same road as the hotel!) The upstairs terrace is also fantastic with a tub, it was so hot when we were there that I enjoyed filling it with cool water (just be careful how quick you tan if you stay in there, don’t make the same mistake as me- user error ha!) It’s very spacious and although shared, we had it to ourselves every time we went up there. The room itself is beautiful, comfortable bed, everything clean. Sofoklis the owner is great and responsive. The cleaning lady is also really lovely. I would highly recommend to everyone to stay here and would definitely come back.

Not having hot water all the time

1. Location was great as it's near old town but not in the busy streets. 2.Also the place was clean and was regularly cleaned throughout the stay. 3. Bed was also comfortable and was even given a bottle of wine.

We chose the budget double room. It was good for us but not great if you are claustrophobic. It was more like box room style but there is a window to allow air and make you feel space is more open. Also we were initially told that a taxi would be booked for us from the airport and then going back to the airport but on both occasions, we had to go to the taxi rank and get one. It was a bit tricky as not all taxis have a card machine set up. It would have been nicer to be told that we can just get our own taxi before we flew into Chania than saying we did have taxis booked.
