Good stay and good value in Chania.

Excellent location in Chania. Feels like a busy commercial street, but walk around the corner and you're in the beautiful historic port area surrounded by shops/restaurants/nightlife. Also walking distance to the beach. The apartment is spacious and clean (bathroom is a bit tight) and we appreciated the crib for our baby and the welcome & parting gifts!

Two flights of stairs to reach the inner door. Didn't bother us but guests should be aware. WiFi was a little spotty at times.

The house is in very good location, and there are a lot of cafes, bars and restaurants nearby. It's also super clean and well-furnished. The owners have prepared almost everything you need. A good place to stay in Chania.

Comfortable, conveniently located apartment, friendly and attentive hosts

I can confirm what has already been mentioned in the other reviews. The hosts are very friendly and went out of their way to help and ensure we had all we needed (for example, Stefanos recommended a convenient car park nearby). The apartment is in a top location right around the corner from the old town. It is spacious and was very comfortable for us three.

The street is indeed busy and therefore gets quite noisy, however when you close the windows it's completely quiet inside the apartment.

Location was exceptional - only steps away from Old Town, a short walk to a local beach, and the bus station. The hosts were exceptional - always quick to respond to messages and often checked in to see how our stay was or if we needed anything. It is obvious that they take great pride in their guests experience.

fully equipped flat with 100% attentive hosts!

Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived until our departure. the flat was cozy, modern and situated in a perfect location, the only small thing is that it is on a louder street, but that was not a big problem either. it is also an advantage though there are many places to eat on this street as well. The host are going above and beyond to make you feel home and well taken care of. When we arrived there were some local and homemade goodies waiting for us on the table. We also took something accidentally from a flat and realized when we were already far in athens, it was not problem hosts did not require us to ship anything back, they just replaced it. super easy going, but also attentive hosts. I would definitely stay there again and i full recommend this place.

Very clean and very convenient at the top of the main tourist street and only 3 mins from the main bus station so great for day trips. Buses are cheap and good.

Amazing location with modern comforts

We had a fantastic stay at Casa 1926 during our 8 night visit to Chania. This place is highly rated and our experience matched those reviews. The photos are exactly how the place appears in reality and it was super useful having things like a full size fridge and a washing machine given the length of our stay! You could not get a better location - a less than 5 minute walk to the old town and also an easy 15 minute walk to nea chora beach (the closest beach on foot although there are many more to be seen by bus and car!!). The apartment is also close to the taxi rank and bus stops as well as to countless bakeries where we got the best coffee and pastries each morning. Although it’s in a central location the windows offer excellent sound proofing and finally the air conditioning worked exceptionally well. Stefanos and Despina were very welcoming and made sure that our stay was as comfortable as possible.

Nothing - just worth noting that there is a flight of stairs to get to the apartment which is worth noting for those who have mobility issues with stairs - but stairs were fine for me and that is as a person who is not fit at all!

Perfect place for active holidays.

The apartment is large, modern and tastefully furnished and decorated. Everything we needed was there (e.g. towels, soap, washing machine, hair dryer, ...). Everything was working great (showers, TV, fridge). The location is very good, i.e. just meters from the old town. We used a private parking garage (12 Euros/day). The host, Stephanos, made a considerable effort to provide us with all information we needed (parking, restaurant, beaches). Most of our time we went hiking. I recommend using the wikiloc application which offers a very wide user-fed database of trails, including smaller trails in the nearer white mountains. I went to highest mountain of Crete (2h driving but really worth the trip, see the picture). We did various gorges (including Samaria which is an easy hike for experienced hikers but a bit difficult for others), coast walks and other smaller walks in the mountains. Also make sure to visit the botanical garden (on the road to Samaria).

The apartment is located in a busy street. Noise level can be quite high during some hours of the day, e.g. end of afternoon. However, the windows isolate very well and we did not spend a lot of time in the apartment. We slept well with closed windows (the rooms are high and large, so fresh air is not needed) Also, the air conditioning is working well, but we did not use it.

Superb visit to Chania

Superior quality, newly renovated, spacious 1st floor apartment with high ceilings, excellent kitchen facilities and modern shower room. Excellent location on the edge of the old town. It is on a busy shopping street with restaurants and supermarkets on the doorstep. However it is quiet because no expense has been spared on the windows. Taxi can stop at the door unlike most accomodation in the old town. Loved sitting on the balcony in the evening with a glass of wine and doing a bit of people watching. High quality bedding, towels and toiletries and a gift of toasts and homemade jams are the icing on the cake.

There was nothing to dislike. However a word of warning to the less fit - 35 steps up to the front door. For ourselves, 70+, average fitness it was not a problem.

Highly recommended !!!!

Before our arrival our host answered all our questions about the arrival and much more. Upon arrival he gave us a lot of suggestions for places to visit and eat. The apartment is completely renovated with functional spaces and furniture , and comfortable beds. It is tastefully decorated and original paintings adorn the master bedroom and the sitting area. Our twins absolutely loved their full size bunk bed while the younger one occupied the large double sofa bed. We were invited to have a look at the host’s other apartment next door: the Grande Casa 1926 with views at the Venetian Walls. Just amazing!!! Casa 1926 is situated on the main street in the center of Chania and everything is nearby.We walked everywhere ,specially in the old part of Chania where cars are not allowed. We had a great time at Chania and staying at Casa 1926 made it even better. If you plan visiting Chania try to book any of the two apartments.You won’t regret it.

A beautiful apartment at an excellent location in the heart of Chania. Recently restored with brand new furniture and a fully equipped kitchen. It was exactly as shown in the photos in booking.com and even better. The hosts provided us with all the info we needed to have a splendid time at Chania and around. They contacted us during our stay to see if everything was ok. The place was spotless clean. Although on the main street of Chania, it is extremely quiet. The small balcony is a great plus, as you can sit and watch life go by. The Venetian Harbor was only 4 minutes away and everything else you needed (supermarket, taxis, all kinds of shopping and eateries) was no more than a minute away. Great, great stay. Highly recommended.
