A cosy and comfortable place to stay with lots of character, excellent location for walking

The location was perfect for walking. It was a quiet place. There was a parking space outdoors. We had a couple of different rooms to be in. It was warm and full of character. Space in the Old Stable was used well.

We like to cook food in an oven and the oven provided was not great, although we appreciate limited space limits options for kitchen facilities. We would have liked better lighting in the main downstairs room, it was quite dark.

A perfect location for hiking and relaxing. This cottage combines the cultural aspect of Peak District with modern facilities. I absolutely adored my walks to the shop through the fields. You can feel truly connected with nature.

The property was great, easy parking, comfortable and decent-sized bed and super-fast WiFi.

Even though the location for the Kinder Scout trail was very convenient - walking distance - eating out was a little tricky. Kitchens of the 2 local pubs in Edale stopped serving at 7.45pm everyday and on 2 occasions (1 cafe and 1 pub) the kitchen had to suspend food orders as they were too busy. Because of this we ate elsewhere a few times with no problems. It didn’t really matter as we had a car.

Perfect little spot for a weekend away for two

Perfect size for two. Nice and warm with plenty of options for more heat and lots of light options too. bed was very comfy!

Was within walking distance from a couple of pubs but during the winter months it gets dark early and we didn’t feel too comfortable walking back along a country lane in the dark. Just had dinner a little earlier and headed back before it got too dark :)

The Old Stable is a perfect location for a short walking holiday for one or two people, with every amenity you need.

I love visiting The Old Stable because of its perfect location. Once you park up, you really don’t need to drive off again until check-out. It is situated in a spot close to all the best walks — Jacob’s Ladder to Kinder Scout, Edale Village, Mam Tor, and more. It is always immaculate and organised. There is everything you need there.

Exceptional

Lovely and cozy property in the a great location, just moments from the Pennine Way. Lots of maps and info on where to go. Not too far from Edale train station, about a 15 min walk. Easy to contact hosts who were very helpful

Didn't have a car so not easy to get supplies (doable but took some planning). Didn't like having to leave.

Amazing - left the car and walked everywhere

Really thoughtfully equipped - just right for two of us . Lashings of hot water , and really comfortable . We liked that you could walk everywhere and leave the car behind . Pub and station walking distance ( 20 minutes ) and some fabulous walks on the door step . We took the train to Manchester when it was really too wet to walk - so cheap and only 30 minutes away .
