Excellent!

Everything was very nice,we had a lovely time,the host an amazing lady,she was great and friendly with our 6 years old daughter,like a grandmother! Bed was nice and soft,breakfast had plenty of choices,really recomend the place!

Lovely area, peaceful and tranquil, with a good selection of breakfast. Help yourself option. David was a lovely guy who made us feel very comfortable.

Fabulous area and fine warm facilities.

A beautiful location - secluded, with superb views. Bathroom was clean and spacious with excellent facilities. The bed was very comfortable and the storage of multiple drawers and large built in wardrobe perfect for a long stay. Hosts Carol and David were a wealth of advice and local information and their welcome was genuinely warm. The hallway and kitchen provided many great touches, including treats of fruit and sweets, parking passes and chilled water. Further guidebooks, information and great views are experienced in the kitchen. A dining area and well provisioned breakfast bar was available with crumpets and breads and porridge key to a fine morning! Excellent stay DS

Might well be the best place to stay in Millom, with friendly hosts and stupendous views.

Beautiful house in a very interesting location--you have to drive through a grotty industrial estate to reach it, but I like that slightly 'edgelands' feel. Gorgeous meadow in front of it and you walk out to magnificent views of the Duddon estuary and the Lakeland fells beyond. The tide was up the morning we left, so lots of waders (birds--big flocks of redshank) flying along the shoreline and the water.

Having a breakfast served (rather than DIY) would make it about perfect but it would be unfair to criticise it on that basis. We knew what the offer was when we booked and enjoyed our cereals and toast.

I can absolutely recommend a stay here.

15 mins walk to an isolated beach. 10 mins walk to town centre. Lots of footpaths to follow around the coast. Host was very accommodating and helpful - she even asked if we needed anything when she popped in to town. 💓 Views are absolutely stunning. Breakfast bar open all day (self service).

One tiny niggle - the bedroom door rattles with the window open and it's been scorching hot this week.

Very windy on one night ,batroom window slightly open and even when bathroom door closed ,bedroom door rattling Shut bathroom window in night ,but still rattled a bit Couldnt be helped I suppose very windy Think its where door latch is ,Comfythats the problem !

Excellent base for hill walking in SW of the Lake District. Very quiet with superb views over the Duddon Estuary and its wildlife. Very helpful host.

Excellent would visit again if we are in the area.

The room and facilities were great, David and Carol were great hosts, Carol even came outside to make sure everything was OK as we had our car bonnet up as the coolant was low and enquired if we needed help but we just needed a top up of water , but I know she would've helped if needed 😊

The bed was very bouncy more like a water bed, my husband toss's and turns in a normal bed but this one made me feel like I was on a water bed i moved every time my husband moved 🤣

I am a regular visitor here. This time I travelled for work with my colleague. The guest house is clean and comfortable, and the view across the estuary is wonderful. The DIY breakfast, and kitchen facility is very convenient. This is a safe place to stay.

A very peaceful bolt whole away from a busy world.

Listening to bird song whilst having breakfast in the beautiful Atrium, which overlooked a wildflower meadow and the Duddon estaury and surrounding mountains. Nearby there is a ruined harbour and a short walk to a bird reserve.

my husband would have prefered a bath instead of a shower, but you cant have everything !!!

It was lovely but a little pricey. For £104 for one night I would have preferred knowing the breakfast was self serve continental before booking. Fruit yoghurt cereal bread/long Life pastries. All ok but awkward to prepare in small space. No way of washing your hands without going back to your room.

Quiet, peaceful and comfortable

Carol and David were great hosts, being friendly and accommodating. The room was bright and airy, with a very comfortable bed and beautiful views. It was nice to be able to help ourselves to food in the atrium dining room at any time. A selection of pastries, muffins and cakes was available, along with croissants, bread for toast, butter and yogurt. So you wouldn’t go hungry! Fresh fruit was also available. All in all, a lovely and peaceful stay.

Lovely location

The view from our room was great, beautiful estuary position and a good seat to enjoy the view and wildflower garden. Unfortunately, we did not have time to sit out. Our room was a good size.

The room was a bit dated, dirty marks on side of bed. The bathroom could have been cleaner - hair and dust on shelves and bits on the floor. There was a lot of choice for breakfast, but only basic tea and instant coffee.

The location was wonderful beautiful views and walks just out the back. There was a host of amazing sea and wader birds definitely take your binoculars. Very light and airy room 24 access to the breakfast and lots of facilities for you to make your own food. Good selection for breakfast and free fruit . Tea and coffee in your room and in the eating area. Very relaxed household and pleasant atmosphere. Thanks for a great stay.

Fantastic accommodation!! Brilliant hosts!!

David & Carol really are fabulous hosts. Friendly, very welcoming, eager to ensure we had everything we needed, helpful, knowledgeable of the area, absolutely perfect! The accommodation is brilliantly situated. Very quiet, tranquil & with stunningly beautiful views. Having breakfast in the garden, overlooking the mountains, was a particular highlight. A number of great fell walks are a short drive away. A few lovely walks start at the back door! Thanks for looking after us David & Carol!

Millon village is ok, though short of a decent pub. Not many tourists, mainly locals. The Italian & Indian restaurants ate well worth a visit. Many more pubs & eateries are a short drive away or a longer walk away.
