Quinta da Graca- Complexo Turistico

Beautiful surroundings, nice round pool, decent breakfast. There is a bench outside the room. We prepared our dinner with provisions bought from a medium-sized supermarket 5km away.

No kettle in the room to make a cup of tea in the evening. A small cooler would have been nice as well. You need a car.

Nuno. What a star. He was a fantastic host, responding to all our questions quickly before we arrived and very helpful when we arrived. Love him! The Quinta is really cool. Proper little Quinta nestled among the vineyards, with stunning views all the way down to the Duoro river. When we arrived, Nuno gave us a full tour, explained the rules of the house and then left us to enjoy our afternoon. Cold beers were available in the honesty fridge, along with some house wine and soft drinks. The pool was clean and great fun to sit around and cool off in. It was small, but it did the job and the little kids loved it Considering the heat outside, the rooms were nice and cool. The facilities were classic, and fitted the property. The drive across from Porto was exciting and scenic.

The rooms were great but we struggled with did struggle with 2 things... 1. Space to hang our clothes (we had probably brought too much with us) and light around the mirror for when we were getting ready in the evenings. I suppose just something to be conscious of but, Nuno did leave out an iron in the communal area for anyone to use. And just being honest, breakfast was croissant and cheese and ham. A little restrictive if you're spending a few days there but, there's a shop in walking distance if you need something to tide you or the kids over.

The breakfast was lovely, the views were stunning, the area by the pool was great for our group to socialise, the hotel manager was kind and helpful, the rooms were large! It felt peaceful and comforting. The Aircon was good as well!

The toilet sometimes had issues with filling and flushing and also continuous running. I managed to solve this by intermittently turning off the flow into the cistern, but it might be something that someone else would struggle with. The inside of the wardrobe had clearly had some previous water damage.

Loved the look and feel of the old architecture. Nuno is a very nice man and a wonderful host.

A couple more pillows on the bed would be nice.
