Quinta Da Porta Caseira

Wat ons het meeste beviel was de gastvrijheid van de gastheer, hij stuurde zelfs een vergeten bikini op !!! Dank hiervoor, wij zijn er heel blij mee ! De heerlijke wijn die hij zelf geoogst had. Het kanovaren in de omgeving op de Douro. Het gebruik mogen maken van het zwembad van de gastheer. Het uitzicht wat fenomenaal was. Het prachtige en rustige landgoed waar de accommodatie zich bevindt.

Het ernaast gelegen familiehuis , wat uiteraard verhuurd wordt aan een familie of 2 families, zou in principe geen enkel probleem moeten zijn maar wij hadden de pech dat de familie die er was op het moment dat wij er logeerde, een JBL box bij het zwembad had gezet en tot 1.00 in de nacht een soort van lounge muziek draaide met een beat erin. Daar ons gezellige huisje hiertegen lag, hadden wij last van die muziek. Misschien een idee om aan te geven dat stilte na 22.00 uur verwacht wordt. Dit zie je vaak terugkomen bij accommodaties en is erg prettig.

The house is very spacious and ideal for a stay with family and/or friends! Each bedroom has its own bathroom which is a huge plus! It was clean and comfy. The surroundings were were maintained and super neat! There are swings for kids, a great barbecue perfect for summer evenings and the cherry on top – the pool! The pool water was warm, clean, and there was a warm shower next to it, including pool/lounge chairs and sun shaders. It's big enough to make a couple od swims and for children to enjoy the life out of it. And another cherry on top: the view! The view of the Douro was breathtaking. The area is also very calm and quiet, the only thing you hear is the train passing by at the other side of the river and the occasional donkey bray. :D The windows have mosquito nets and there is AC in the rooms if needed. The owner Pedro was beyond welcoming and kind, he brought us his own wine and Port wine, and blackberries for the kids (and adults).

The only thing I can think of was perhaps a couple of kitchen utensils missing (such as a ladel for example).
