We were welcomed in the hotel by Grace who was lovely, very welcoming and friendly, hotel was very comfortable. We stayed at the front and considering it was by main road the noise wasn't too bad. Food was good, big portions, perfectly situated for York centre. Highly recommend.
There wasn't anything not to like, all good.

Location, close to a lot of places we wanted to go to and right above a bar 😄
It is an older building/hotel but it doesn’t bother us, my husband loved it

The location is excellent! Right outside one of the gates along the wall. Free parking is brilliant for the centre of York. Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. The beer garden was perfect on a sunny afternoon. Bed was soft and the room was nice and clean. Finally, the breakfast was outstanding!
The only issue was that it was very hot outside and this made our room very uncomfortable. We were provided with a fan but it didn't do enough unfortunately. It was impossible to sleep in the heat.

It was convenient to York , staff were helpful and friendly garden space was lovely and there was parking , it was clean . Breakfasts were excellent .
It was dated , the room was tiny , a struggle to walk around the double bed Street front room on a hot weekend meant having the window and secondary glazing open so was noisy first night . Second night worse , had no sleep because neighbour was watching tv all night and partition walls were thin . Sorry have to be honest .
