Onni village: a place to truly feel lucky

Everything. Toys for our one year old in the bedroom. the water view with large panel windows. The fireplace in the house. The stars at night. The surprise berry picking even though it was end of season. Our dog being able to zoom around the backyard. The grill with handy equipment. The entrance to the patio from the sauna. The playground was amazing for any age, swings and sandpit for the child and zip line and equipment for us. They will tell you to bring so we were well prepared. And they are nearby if we need anything. Any age will enjoy this place and there will be something for everyone.

Stunning accommodation in a little piece of Finnish paradise.

Wow! Onni Village is a little paradise in the middle of a stunning area of Finland. The accommodation is of a very high standard (better even than in the photos), and each lodge (there are 7 on the site) have huge floor to ceiling windows that down the side facing lake Saimaa. The place was spotless and so well equipped, with great touches like a sauna, free fire wood, life jackets, free use of a rowing boat and a great children's playground with trampoline and zipwire. The host was really excellent and nothing was too much trouble. You can also hire motors for the boat, paddleboards and skis. There are bikes free to use (although only a couple of small helmets) on site and once back on the proper road (Onni Village is 3.8Km down a good forest track) you can travel easily for miles. The nearest shop is in Utula (15 mins drive) and is small, but very well stocked. Huuhanranta beach is stunning and an easy cycle away (the beach is sand and the water is very shallow, so is very safe for children). Don't be put off by the distance from Helsinki. It is a VERY easy 4 hour drive along very quiet motorways and other roads from Helsinki airport and once there, you can relax and enjoy the beauty of this unspoilt area.

2 weeks stay

Beautiful nature location, rural and remote. Peaceful and quiet. Good kids space with trampoline etc. Good facilities, we had everything we needed for 2 weeks. Sauna, swimming, walks, trips to nearby islands on a boat. Overall we loved it and would stay again, it was a really quality time with no phone, just books and nature and time to think

Bicycles are not usable really, this was a shame as we counted on bicycle trips on surrounding roads. Roads are too hilly and bicycles are very basic and didn't have a speed/gear switch so it is impossible to climb a hill on it (unless you are super fit). Also the dishwasher in our cottage A was a bit faulty, hot water didn't work in it, and so it didn't wash properly. This is a minor issue but hopefully gets fixed. Kitchen is a bit too tiny maybe for a long stay. No extras like species or oil or other cooking essentials so we had to buy ourselves. Small hob so difficult to say, fry something and boil pasta at the same time. And you Have to cook every day as there are no restaurants nearby. Again this is a minor detail. Ps: I don't understand the point of buying separately the towels and bed linen - who on earth is travelling with their own? Might as well just include in the price

We loved this place because of very comfortable living in the cottage

The kid rooms, bedroom, livinign space and bath/sauna rooms are very comfortable in terms of planning, decoration, furniture and equipment. All stuffs look as new. The cottage is made of nature materials which is very nice. There is a large wooden terrace in front of the cottage that's why we loved to sit there to watch sunset. The surrounding space of the cottage was planned so that you can feel in harmony with the surrounding forest and lake. The village has a playground that looks very modern (e.g. trampoline, ropeway)

We didn't have enough time to rest there. Our vacation was too short. We have decided to come back there next time)

Great Holiday in Finland

It is great place for relaxing, enjoying nature and getting away from busy lifestyle. We have enjoyed the greatest views at the lake and nature. The lake water was cold, however, amazingly clean and refreshing once swimming. Around the house, you could enjoy mushroom or blueberry piking in desirable volumes. We have also utilized the sauna and grilling facility. Just great relaxing atmosphere.

The water drainage in the shower was not well designed. The water was spreading all over the bathroom.

Very nice, new and well equipped house. The location is perfect - excellent Finnish nature with woods full of berries and mushrooms and lakes full of fish. Stayed only two nights, but definitely would have preferred more.

The location was perfect. The view to the forest and lake together was so nice and the private access to the beach was perfect.

There was not a big market near the cottage, so we need to bring the food for the whole duration of our stay.

We were satisfied with staying there for two nights. Cottage and facilities were clean. Sofa and beds were comfortable. Our cottage was beside the lake and had a good viewpoint.

Nautittiin kovasti ja jos vielä kelit olisi hellineet, niin viikko olisi ollut täydellinen.

Mökistä pidin todella paljon ja sen siisteydestä. Sijainti rauhallinen, eikä mökit ole kiinni toisissaan. Uimaranta oli aivan ihana ja lapsenlapset viihtyivät niin järvessä kuin leikkipaikalla.

Keittiösää oli tosiaan vähän kuivaruoka säilytystilaa, säilytin niitä olohuoneen hyllyssä johon mahtuivat oikein mainiosti. Verkkoyhtys oli sisätiloissa huono, ja olohuoneen sohva kerrassaan karmea ( aivan liian pehmeä ) panostaisin tukevaan vuodesohvaan.

Luonnonläheinen, kaunis majapaikka

Onni Village sijaitsee kauniilla ja rauhallisella paikalla luonnon helmassa ja sinne on helppo tulla. Mökki on kauniisti sisustettu ja tilat ovat avarat, useammalle henkilölle sopivat. Kaikki tarpeellinen löytyy pidempäänkin oleiluun. Kaunis takka tuo tunnelmaa ja lämpöä koleampaan vuodenaikaan. Vuoteet ovat meidän makuun sopivat, eivät liian pehmeät. Tilat ovat siistit ja hyvin hoidetut sekä sisällä, että ulkona. Varsinkin kesänviettoon löytyy paljon tekemistä myös lapsiperheille. Omistaja on ystävällinen, avulias ja rehti. Suosittelen paikkaa lämpimästi ihan ympäri vuoden käytettäväksi.
