Nothing wrong with a short visit to Gilmanuk. The people are feisty and friendly.

I would say, this property not for everyone.

The owner was friendly, too friendly i think, dont mind our business and we need some privacy, somehow i felt like they watching you every move, like a helicopter, not too close but they can see you, but the room was big and clean.

The owner is too friendly i think, he ask multiple times where are you going, what you gonna do, i felt like dont have any privacy there and the wife said the main door shut at 12pm with an attitude, after me going back and fourth, in an out of the homestay between 6pm-9pm, for buying food, and meeting my friend, so its not 24hours access, the property is right in front of a Mosque🥲 imagine 4am in the morning, the dog owner always barking, no amenities, no water heater, its cold water only, i was there for like 3 hours literally for 300k/night its not worth it, checked in at 6pm and checked out at 9pm, and the owner doesn’t bother to ask why ? Or offer partially refund or anything.

Best place to stay in Gilimanuk

Super friendly, family run guest house. I stayed here for two nights to visit the West Bali National Park, and before my onwards trip to Java. Gede and his family are a pleasure to stay with, and can organise all your transportation and travel needs, at a fair price. The rooms are large and clean, with everything needed for a short stay.

Bathroom was a disaster and smelled extremely bad. Luckily there was a door between the bathroom and the bedroom, but still very unpleasant. The rest of the room was fine, but the AC didn't work properly so the temperature wasn't very pleasant.

Putu is smiling all the time she is nice and helpful to take care of me. Very comfortable bed and dark curtains. Location close to ferry Transit is easy. Stay for one night on way to Lovina. Shower water hot and good pressure Omelette with vegetable for breakfast included Terima Kasih Putu

Air conditioner stopped working in night time, making loud noises. Bathroom needs an upgrade or some bleach to clean stains

Had a really nice room for myself. Was clean for the most part. Can recommend the place although I think there’s not that much around to do. So maybe stop here for a day before or after taking the ferry.

There was quite a bit of mold in one corner of my bathtub. The owner said they are going to renovate it at some point. Just be aware that for now it’s there.

Overall, the experience was great. The courtyard is quiet and people respect the environment. The hostess Ayo is also very kind, generous and always helping with anything we need. Besides that, the hostel is in the centre which is nice when you're out and about. Thanks Ayo for everything 🤍

Passable for one night.

We got the ferry to Java + fine if you need one night stay. The owner and family are so lovely + very helpful! They gave us a lift at midnight for our ferry + organised taxi the next day at a good cost. Shop just round the corner.

The bathroom was absolutely filthy. We couldn’t shower because it looked like mould was growing. Such a shame! Also you cannot walk to ferry port from here.

Exceptional Experience

The best two days I have had so far in Indonesia. The property is very beautiful kept neat by Mr. Arya's family. I was welcomed in by his 11 year old son. The room was nice and cosy and Kept neat and tidy. The sheets and covers were freshly washed and all this for about 10 USD/ day. Also the lady of the home is an excellent cook. Arya arranged a full day snorkelling trip for me to deer iisland though I was traveling Solo at a competitive rate and also arranged me to go with a excellently priced toxi ride to my hotel in DPS with someone who was going to the airport for a pickup. [ almost felt like a family member being dropped off. Anyone Who sees this review and books the room please buy a bone for the family dog, a friendly little chap who gave me company when I went for a walk heading off other dogs in the neighbourhood and gave me excellent company for my morning cup of coffee. I will definitely visit again and make Gillimanuk part of my next iterinany to stay there for a couple of days.

The family were so welcoming and helpfull and could not have done more to please us..And the garden very pretty and well maintained. The bedroom was clean and tidy. We did enjoy our stay and the fresh fish Warang recommended was lovely.
