Selkie Cabin Achmelvich, Lochinver

Our third time in the Selkie Cabin and it was so good to be back. The owners have done everything to make the cabin a little home from home, and the location can’t really get any better, overlooking a loch and 5 minutes walk to the beautiful beach. The bed is very comfy, the kitchen is well equipped, and we made sure we got a barbecue in when the sun came out. There are so many stunning beaches and places to visit from here, Lochinver is great for food, and it’s just a special part of Scotland, hence our many returns. Can’t wait to make more memories there in the future.

Location is amazing. The Cabin was comfortable and perfect for our overnight stay. Staff responded promptly to our questions.

The shower/toilet set up is not ideal. We did not use the shower eventually.

Well equipped cabin on very quiet back road with impressive views out over the water and to the peaks beyond. Nice beach a short drive away, walkable if you have enough time. Cafes and restaurant in nearby village about 5 minutes drive, not really walkable.

17.00 check in time we felt was a bit late, if it had been earlier we would probably have explored the area more. Nice to sit outside and look at the view until the midges became too annoying which wasn't a surprise given the location. Couldn't get the TV to work properly when we did have to go inside and couldn't find a wifi code if there was one.
