Fantastic view, clean, comfortable bed, quiet, could park the car close to the cabin, could turn the heating off at night, good to be able to self cater
Tiny wet room/toilet. No internet, no bedside lamp

The accomodation resembles an upturned boat and is much more spacious than the "usual" arched roof glamping pods that are now commonplace on the NC500. We stayed in one of these in both Brora and Inverlochy. The ability to walk around the double bed was much appreciated by older travellers like ourselves. The cooking area offered a toaster, double ring hob and microwave and there was a decent sized fridge, so cooking our own breakfast was no issue. We ate in Loch Inver but would not particularly recommend Delilah's as value for money, but Peets was unfortunately closed for the week and Loch Inver Larder pies were closed on Monday. The soft furnishings and decor were all imacculate and we would be happy to return on another trip, excepting the wet room issue. See comments below.
We didn't get sent the code for the lockbox until 4.00pm on the day of check in. We were travelling in West Scotland without a reliable internet connection, so did not get the message until 5.07pm when I logged in to the property's WiFi. I had to call the owner to get the code, he was a little surprised as he believed Booking.com sent the code at 4.00pm and I was calling at 4.45pm and still hadn't received it. As it happens the WiFi password is visible on the entrance door but I wasn't looking for it from outside!
The main issue with the property and why it doesn't get a straight 10/10 from me is that the shower room is a wet room with the shower above the wash basin. If you've ever used one of these on a cruise ship you'll know that you end up getting wet socks or dirty feet! The design and use of space is otherwise excellent but instead of a storage box in the corner by the bathroom door I would have extended the bathroom to allow for a shower cubicle. We had a full quarter or 120 degree shower cubicle in "glamping pods" which were much smaller than this one.

Fabulous views near beach and well equipped pod.
Shower was small but not an issue as it was powerful and worked well

Unfortunately we forgot to add our 8 month old and the accommodation cancelled and still charged us £200.
We were left stranded and had to drive hours to find somewhere that would take us.

Location.......stunning. Beautiful place, would have loved to stay a few nights.
The wake up call (bang on the door) as we were a little late departing......very grumpy individual.

The location is very good.
Some of the room light bulbs were blown. There is no cooker even though it is "self-catering".

We were in the self catering house, and it had absolutely everything we could need. They thankfully had tea, coffee and sugar. The views were outstanding and the short walk to Achmelvich beach, which was beautiful. Small single track road for a couple of miles to get to it, but added to it's mystery. Wonderful couple who communicated really well with directions and dining options. Thank you so much.
Location, and really comfortable bed.

The view was amazing and the pod was beautifully clean.
A small chest of drawers would have been useful.

This Pod was in great location with good views, unfortunately the satnav does not take you to it directly, so need to rely on google maps and the signal is not great in this area.
Great accommodation though with everything you cold need for 1 night or more.
The shower/wet room is very small and would be improved is its was a little larger, apart from that is was a good shower with good water pressure, just everything in the room gets wet!!

View of the loch - superb
Decking and seating area great to enjoy coffee and breakfast
Wi-Fi
Well located - 2 minutes drive from Achmelvic Bay, 10 minutes from Lochinver shops
Smaller than expected bathroom
Appearance and layout more traditional
More expensive than some that have more modern features (decor, oven, fire pit, full bathroom etc.)

Great view BBQ and privacy
Expensive and late check in and early check out. Some plastic bowls needed replacing but fine for one night.

Great accommodation space. The property had a good-sized lounge, so we had space to relax and to eat at a table. The well equipped kitchen meant we could have a good evening meal and cooked breakfast while enjoying the great view and listening to the seals in the Loch.

Well equipped cabin on very quiet back road with impressive views out over the water and to the peaks beyond. Nice beach a short drive away, walkable if you have enough time. Cafes and restaurant in nearby village about 5 minutes drive, not really walkable.
17.00 check in time we felt was a bit late, if it had been earlier we would probably have explored the area more. Nice to sit outside and look at the view until the midges became too annoying which wasn't a surprise given the location. Couldn't get the TV to work properly when we did have to go inside and couldn't find a wifi code if there was one.

View.
Difficult to find (no guide given) and comms on unit name, access and keys inadequate and too late. Particularly as it was on the last day when we had no phone signal. No signal in the area too. Friendly people at NC500 units near the beach helped us with WiFi. Photos are not true as the bathroom is a minuscule wet room the size of a shower. Washbasin the size of a large cup. Vastly overpriced. Ok for one night but no more. Kitchen very basic.

Remote, beautiful location & view, well equipped
No WiFi & poor signal. Great to get away from things not so good for checking the weather which changes quickly in the Highlands.

Lovely little apartment close to Achmelvich beach, absolutely stunning views over the Loch and to the Mountains. Very comfortable and had everything I needed for a short peaceful break
Small wet room bathroom but this really wasn’t an issue for me, inventive use of space!

It was in a stunning location with spectacular views across to the mountains. It was very well equipped and we just loved our time there. We wondered if the shower would be okay as it was just a small wet room but it worked perfectly!
We had to have our luggage on the floor and just take the clothes out of it as there was no clothes storage but in a small pod, we did not expect this anyway. The rest made up for this slight inconvenience

Fabulous wee cabin. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Stunning views. Such a relaxing New Year.
Nothing! Initial uncertainty over the shower in the very small toilet/wetroom was unfounded - worked really well!

The cabin was exceptional, the views breathtaking - could not fault a thing!! The hosts were so welcoming and always there if you needed anything! They gave great tips on local walks - the walk from Achmelvich to Lochinver is a must!! Loved everything about our trip ❤️

This property totally blew us away! Selkie cabin was just PERFECT! We’ve stayed in a lot of places and no where tops this! It’s the perfect size - lots of space and even a kitchen with 2 hobs - as well as loadssss of thoughtfully put together outdoor space (we really loved breakfast on the top decking area). The hosts were brilliant - really friendly and kind and I couldn’t think of a better area to be in. We initially thought we wanted to be further towards Ullapool but actually, this was the ideal location, so much to do! Lochniver is on your doorstep as well as Alchmevich beach, Kylesku area, Inverkerigg falls, Stac P, Suilven etc. etc. we could have stayed for so much longer and can’t wait to go back. if you’re considering booking - do it, you won’t regret it and you’ll never have such a lovely morning view to wake up to :)
