Apartments Vila Bovec

Extremely spacious apartment, great value for money. Location is on the Main Street so it can be a bit noisy at night but it’s such a small town it’s not much! The host is welcoming and speaks English. A full kitchen is provided as well as an espresso machine. Parking is included too - amazing!

Needs mirrors in the bedrooms and hooks for towels in the bathroom.

Overall, we had a good stay and found this apartment to be an excellent base for exploring the area. The location is one of its biggest strengths, as most attractions, restaurants, and points of interest are within walking distance. The host was also exceptionally friendly, communicative, and helpful, providing useful local recommendations and making the arrival process easy. The apartment itself is spacious. We were only two people, and we had far more space than we needed. It appears to be designed for larger groups or families. There are multiple sleeping areas, including 3 double beds, a sofa bed, and bunk beds for children. If you are traveling with a larger group, the amount of space is a significant advantage. The apartment is functional rather than luxurious. It is clearly intended as a vacation rental, with a practical setup focused on accommodating guests comfortably rather than providing a high-end experience. Everything we needed was available, and the apartment was convenient. The host lives in the same building, which made communication very easy. We particularly appreciated that check-in was straightforward and that we were not asked to take out the garbage ourselves before departure, which is something we encountered elsewhere during our trip. Despite minor drawbacks, the apartment offers excellent space, a great location, helpful hosting, and good value for money. For families or groups looking for a large and conveniently located place to stay, it is a solid option.

A few things future guests should be aware of. The apartment is located on the 4th floor with no elevator. This may not be suitable for guests with mobility issues, elderly travelers, or anyone carrying heavy bags. The parking situation can also be slightly confusing on arrival. The reserved parking spaces are located within a paid parking area and are marked with chains. We would recommend contacting the host upon arrival. The air conditioning works well but is quite noisy. There is only one unit serving the entire apartment, which means that if you want cool air to reach the bedroom, you may need to leave interior doors open. This could be inconvenient for larger groups or for guests who prefer more privacy while sleeping. Guests who are sensitive to light should also take this into account. The bedroom we used had effective blackout blinds on the skylights, which worked well. However, because we needed to leave the bedroom door open for the air conditioning, light from the living area entered the room. The skylights in the living area do not have proper blackout coverings, making it impossible to keep the apartment dark. The bathroom could use a little maintenance. The shower drainage was somewhat slow, and the lighting in the bathroom felt dim. Neither issue was severe, but both could be improved. The apartment includes a washing machine and drying rack, which is very useful for longer stays. However, no laundry detergent was provided. There is a supermarket nearby, so purchasing detergent is easy, but it would have been a nice convenience to have at least a small starter amount available. The towels were clean but quite small. Guests who prefer larger or thicker towels may wish to bring their own. Finally, noise can be an issue, especially on weekends. This is a lively vacation destination, and during our stay we could hear neighbors, people socializing in common areas, and late-night activity nearby. Light sleepers should keep this in mind.

Clean, central location, owner had good communication

The owner was extremely generous and friendly, taking the time to provide us with a wealth of useful information about the area as well as meeting our needs promptly. The apartment is a cosy place, well equipped, and located right next to Bovec's main village area with key amenities at its doorstep.

The apartment is on the top floor, so you have to climb a few flights of stairs. There are also no windows per se in the apartment although there are skylights, so don't expect any views other than the sky! :) These are minor peeves though.
