cockroaches, crumbs and dust under the couch/bed.. & super dirty toaster

the view and the location - walking distance to the sambodromo which was the main reason i booked this place

saw cockroaches on the second night and one went under the bed. so i couldn't sleep at night. i asked the host if there was pesticide in the apt and he told me to go buy it by myself. pest problem is the owner's problem. but he dared to tell me to be responsible for those cockroaches in the room. that was upsetting. also i saw some crumbs/ dust under the bed/couch (took photos), from previous guests - that's why cockroaches were there. it wasn't even cleaned well before i checked in. the toaster was super dirty so i had to clean it before i used it! the bed sheets didn't look clean either. still, i was charged the cleaning fee. nonsense. oh, on top of everything, he texted me to check out one day before, by mistake. lol he was looking at the cancelled booking and seemed surprised i was still in the apartment at 3pm even though i was supposed to check out the next day. SMH

Smart little apartment with well-organised host and good local ammeneties in bonkers area of Rio

Supermarket, bank, pharmacy, cafes, bars and restaraunts on the same street. Just down the road from the Selaron steps and the iconic aqueduct. Ivo (the owner) and Felipe (who greeted us) welcomed us seemlessly, allowing us to check in and out at our convenience and making sure the building's concierge knew about us. Apartment is nicely decorated, clean, and small but well-equipped for a couple on a short stay.

The air con unit is on the noisy side (but so was Lapa during Carnival!) and wifi dropped out occasionally. Unfortunately the bed was broken by a previous guest, but Ivo made efforts to contact us after we reported the issue (to no avail as I lost my phone, so we made do!). Be warned: Lapa is not for the feint-hearted during Carnival - it's a bit of a zoo!

Well located and cheap flat in Rio

The flat is located in a very lively neighborhood (lots of pubs and restaurants around). Ivo was not present at the time of arrival for work reasons but was anyway easily available via WhatsApp during our stay. Also, the price is very attractive.

The flat looked clean on arrival but a few cockroaches were still occasionally wandering around. A water shortage seemed to have affected the whole building for a few hours at some point.

Uma padaria 24 horas quase ao lado. A localização é excelente. A vista da janela é incrível.

O lugar não acomoda três pessoas. Não é um apartamento, é uma quitinete, não tem espaço, o sofá atrapalha, os móveis são bem antigos e as tomadas não são atualizadas e funcionam muito mal. O banheiro não tem box e é anti higiênico aquela cortina box suja. O ralo é muito pequeno e água demora horas pra descer, molhando o banheiro inteiro. Não pode deixar o ar condicionado ligado com o calor da cidade, que o vizinho reclama para o dono. Os seguranças nem veem quem entra e sai do apartamento, não é totalmente seguro.

Apto com bom custo beneficio

O local é muito bom pra quem gosta da região central. Bons lugares para comer e curtir a noite O apto é simples e tem o que precisa para estadias curtas

A única coisa que me incomodou no apto foi o local para banho. A água acumula no banheiro e demora um pouco para descer no ralo.
