Quite unexpected and absolutley fabulous. In the middle of nowhere, wonderful views and silence so quiet you could hear it. We arrived to a Barbecue night so one would be forgiven for expecting overcooked charcoaled food but the range of choice was extensive and perfectly cooked by the owner - clearly an expert BBQ-er. Rooms were spotless , the breakfast buffet was extensive and fresh.. We would have stayed longer if we had the time. As the guide Michelin would say "Vaut le Voyage"

the only (very minor) criticism would be the terrible orange juice. Hardly anywhere serves decent fresh orange juice . I would have gladly paid an extra Euros5.00 per night for good quality orange juice at breakfast. Otherwise the stay couldn't have been more perfect.

This Gasthaus has been in the family for generations. It shows.

Really classic Gastaus. The restaurant served typical a Black Forest menu.People come from all over to go to the restaurant even tho it's not in Neustadt. Breakfast was served on the balcony & was delicious. A complete German breakfast. Our room was large & comfortable with a small balcony. Bed huge with comforters.

nice room, good beer, but too much salt!

the room was clean, warm and spacious, the bed was very comfortable. the staff is very kind and friendly too.

some friends recommended us the food here, but it was so salty that I could eat less than half, my tongue started hurting, despite the beer! at breakfast I tried the same ingredients (sausages and eggs) to see if it was the base ingredient salty or the chef, and I confirm it was the chef. too bad! not very nice that you cannot charge the dinner on the room.

cosy stay in the mountain

Amazing little gem near Tittisee. The room was very spacious and extremely clean. Bed was very comfortable. Views from the windows are a dream! The staff and the food (both restaurant and breakfast) was very good. I would stay again without second thought.

Amazing location and what a view at breakfast. Had a problem with our car (a stone marten had chewed though an intake pipe, apparently this is a thing in the black forest 😂). Owner was great, containing the garage for us and booking in. Garage were amazing too, repaired at no cost. Evening meals great, breakfast a nice buffet selection of good quality cheese, bread, eggs etc. Very comfy beds.

Not a moan, but just for information the evening restaurant is closed on Tuesdays so don't plan to eat at the guesthouse.

Warm, friendly, and delicious! We loved staying here!

Staff was super friendly, food was delicious and the room was clean and large with comfortable beds. Very welcoming and homey feeling! We also traveled with our 8 month old and she slept great in the crib they provided and we had plenty of room in bed to share with her too (which is rare for European beds!)

Great value, clean well equipped Gasthof in the hills with very friendly staff and owners

Beautiful "Gasthof" on the hill just as you would hope and picture in your imagination. Lovely breakfast buffet with a big and delicious choice which is served in the restaurant, where you can also have an afternoon drink. Staff and owner super friendly, uncomplicated and helpful. Even though it snowed the room was very well heated and all amenities are up to modern hotel standards. We had a great walk in the surrounding hills and woods in the snow. The restaurant and food are very good also, I recommend eating at the property. Fine draft beers and local wines are recommended also.

Superb

We had a room with the balcony with a beautiful view. It was quiet and peaceful. The room was big enough not too small. Bathroom is clean but quite cramp. Shower with hot water was great. Breakfast was fantastic with bacon and eggs, fruit juice, cold cuts, muesli, Joghurt, cheese and etc. a great variety spread of food. Had dinner there because of Covid most of the restaurants were closed and it was easier to eat at the property. It was very good. The second day we requested for Schwarzwälder Kuchen (Black Forest cake) and it was the best cake I’ve eaten! Absolutely delicious!!

It’s in the middle of nowhere so you need to do a lot of walking, great place for hiking. The bathroom could use a few more hooks to hang the towels after use. Not used to the pillows. It was too soft.

I never could get the WiFi working and the location is so remote my data worked only intermittently.

Great breakfast and hospitable staff. The room was as described. We liked that the location was out of town and away from other tourists. Note that this will also mean that we had to drive more significant distances to get to other locations.

The walls are thin. We could hear the TV from the room next door every morning and evening. The WiFi was frustrating and never did work. Based on the remote location, we also struggled with data sometimes.

Hervorragend geeignet für einen wunderbaren Wochenendaufenthalt im Schwarzwald.

Schöner, gemütlicher, kleiner Gasthof auf 1020 m Höhe mitten im Schwarzwald. Das Zimmer war sehr groß, sehr sauber, hatte alles, was man für einen Wochenendaufenthalt benötigte, ein Balkon war vorhanden, das Bad etwas klein, aber sehr sauber, Seife, Duschgel und Handtücher waren vorhanden , das Bett war groß und die Matratzen wirklich super. Das Essen im Restaurant war hervorragend. Der Koch hat wirklich einen Stern verdient. Die Preise waren vollkommen angemessen, das Personal zuvorkommend und freundlich. Der Parkplatz vor dem Haus war kostenfrei, WLAN hat einwandfrei funktioniert und war sogar gesichert. Die Lage ist für jegliche Art von Wander oder Fahrradtouren hervorragend. Zum Titisee waren es nur 15 Minuten Autofahrt. Der ganze Gasthof wird hervorragend und ausgezeichnet geführt. Die Speisekarte ist vollkommen ausreichend und hat für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Ich würde gerne wiederkommen.

Es waren 2 schöne Tage im Salenhof. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Der Gasthof liegt etwas abseits und sehr ruhig. Dennoch sind es nach Titisee-Neustadt nur ca. 8 Autominuten. Die Inhaber sind sehr nett und freundlich. Das Zimmer das wir hatten war groß und sehr sauber. Vom Balkon aus hatten wir eine tolle Aussicht auf die Landschaft. Das Frühstück ist genial, es fehlt an nichts. Die Speisekarte bietet für jeden etwas. Das Essen ist sehr gut und reichlich.

Da gibt es in allen Bereichen nichts zu meckern. Für uns war alles im grünen Bereich.

Ein schöner Urlaub

Das war ein schöner und erholsamer Urlaub. Zimmer war sehr ordentlich und sehr sauber. Sehr freundliches Personal die sehr kompetent und Nett waren. Besonders schön fand ich den letzten Abend von uns und letzten Abend vor den Betriebsferien der Unterkunft mit Wildgerichten die sehr gut geschmeckt und vorbereitet waren. Die Umgebung war fabelhaft mit Wanderrouten und Alpaka Wiese. Die Unterkunft würde ich jeden empfehlen der Ruhe und Ausspannung sucht.

Das einzige was mir und meine Frau nicht schön war ist das die Blumen auf den Balkonkästen einfach den letzten Tag abgeschnitten waren und runtergeworfen, es hätte warten können bis alle Gäste weg waren. Wir kamen in Zimmer und die Blumen auf dem Balkon waren auch weg. Davon spricht meine Frau immer noch.
